Well, for his birthday, Mr. Kevin picked Captain Ross Corbett of Miss Judy Charters to take his family out on their first fishing trip! Well, the deed has now been done, and the best news is that they had a wonderful time. They caught some fish, kept some fish, released some fish, and saw lots of cool coastal area things! And we were so happy to meet everyone, especially our new friend Mr. Kevin (navy blue shirt)! Happy Birthday again my friend!

Since we canceled all our trips this past Saturday do to the pending arrival of in-climate weather Captain Ross Corbett of Miss Judy Charters (912 429 7671) and Captain Sean Fitzgeralkd of Panga Express private charters (912 421 1346) decided to get together and do a little fishing or should I say “CATHCING!” Captain Sean is holding up a nice spotted sea trout and sheepshead. I know they caught some large flounder as well as other red fish on this day! Anyhow, when you love to fish and your charters have been canceled, what do you do? Go fishing anyhow!

Captain Jake Ross of Miss Judy Charters went on a bait catching mission before taking his morning inshore customers for their 7 AM departure! Captain Jake already knew that the tide stage and the moon phase were in his favor! The picture above is of his first cast, which looks like a haul of a solid quart of live shrimp! I will end this report with the fact that you know now, if you like, you can successfully catch your own live bait. And one more thing I would like to add…when there is so many shrimp, sometimes the fish prefer something else! Another fishing tip with a flip!
Anyhow, if fishing is what you are looking to do…give Miss Judy Charters a call 912 429 7671!

Those darn red legged shrimp do like to move!
During the full moon this week, so interesting changes took place. Captain Ross Corbett of miss Judy Charters decided to do a little casting for bait before his morning 7 AM departure inshore trip! According to Captain Ross, he threw three times and had right at 4 quarts of health live shrimp. And then I got to thinking what my father used to say, “Judy, during the full moon phase, especially during this time, the shrimp’s legs turn red!” According to my father when a shrimp is sporting red legs it means they are going to relocate to sound and then the ocean. Kind of like red legs a running!
Shrimp are known more for hovering and holding than they are for making way in a true forward motion. So, when the tide is falling (going out) normally those with red legs are carried with it. When the tide slows schools of shrimp or better yet the swarms of shrimp grab hold to anything to anchor themselves so they can rest and wait for the outgoing tide stage. There is another reason to hold on. They do not want to get swept up in the incoming tide stage. Why? They will just end up right back where the just left!
Believe it or not, but if you know where the shrimp are usually staging before the full moon stage, then you might be able to figure out where they will end up in their first resting mode! If you want to talk fish give Captain Judy a call 912 429 7671!

Captain Jake Ross of Miss Judy Charters is holding up a nice blue crab, which he caught while throwing the old cast net! For those that love to go crabbing now is the time. This big boy was caught in Turners Creek while it was making way among all the shrimp that were hovering! And know this crab as well as others is only going to get bigger! All that’s left to say now is “Break out the chicken necks, the crab lines, dip net, and the Old Bay seasoning! Why? Because it is time to go! I see the possibilities of a big-time crab boil in your future!
