At Chasin Goat Grazing, we’re more than just a business—we’re a family. From sun-up to sundown, everyone lends a hand, even occasionally the little ones get to help out. This is our kid helping out in the mobile sheep yard while we load animals, learning early the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for the land. But more than anything he’s having fun! Our business isn’t just about goats—it’s about raising the next generation with a love for agriculture and stewardship

Did you know that more than 25 million acres of California wildlands are classified as under very high or extreme fire threat? (Ingram, et al., 2021) It is because of this high threat that vegetation management is so important; either through traditional methods such as mowing or through the use of grazing animals!

Did you know that the Dorper breed was developed in the 1930’s in South Africa by cross breeding a Dorset Horn ram with Blackhead Persian ewes to develop a low maintenance yet fertile breed. This makes the dorper breed perfect for grazing!

We are often asked, “what do you use to haul your animals to our job?” When we arrive at your job we will arrive in our double decked semi or our double decked stock trailer. Our 40ft trailer hauled behind the semi can hold, on average, 250 goats/ sheep. Our 25ft stock trailer pulled behind our 350 trucks can hold, on average, 130 goats and sheep! Each trailer is equipped with a ramp to safely load/ unload animals. If you see us around please feel free to stop by and say hi, or ask any questions!

We often get asked “how do you protect your livestock from predators?” To protect our livestock we use Great Pyrenees guardian dogs! If you see our dogs please remember not to pet or feed them. We love our dogs, and for the safety of our stock please honor this request!
