🔨 Boot Camp is officially underway for NBCC Sonoma, and our students are already making an impact. In partnership with the The City of Rohnert Park, they’ve taken on the renovation of the Girl Scout Hut at Alicia Park. They are installing and painting new siding and trim, and replacing doors and windows. This is a major project, and we couldn’t be more proud of their dedication, teamwork, and craftsmanship!

Attending the Santa Rosa Junior College HVAC Fundamentals Student Showcase at the Construction Training Center was incredible. We are so fortunate to have such innovative and forward thinking trade programs at SRJC. A highlight of the day was running into NBCC 2025 alum Leo Dahlstedt and even picking up a few skills from him.

NBCC Coastal Mendocino students had an inspiring and imaginative evening at the “Build Your Dream Home” session led by Cynthia Sharon of Dancing Dog Design Build. Using their plan reading skills, measurement know how, math, and plenty of daydreaming, students brought their future visions to life and explored what they might one day build with their own hands.

NBCC Inland Mendocino had an incredible Concrete Day hosted by Norcal Recycled Rock & Aggregates, Inc. with expert instruction from both Norcal and Ghilotti Construction Company! Students poured and finished a full concrete slab and got an inside look at aggregates and the concrete industry from the people who know it best.

Thank you to everyone who made this day such a success and such a fun, memorable experience for our students. We are so grateful for partners who directly bring our workforce development programs to life!

North Bay Construction Corps Sonoma County wrapped up the program with an incredible Heavy Equipment Day hosted by Ghilotti Construction Company! Students got hands-on experience operating rollers, skippies, and 305s; laying wattles with expert instruction from Stevenson Supply & Tractor Co. ; mixing and pouring concrete; demoing concrete with a jackhammer; and learning about underground heavy civil engineering, fuel trucks, and career pathways from union representatives.

This was an unforgettable final Saturday for our cohort, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have members like Ghilotti who invest in our students and help shape the next generation of builders.
