🥊 Jr. Golden Gloves Recap 🥊
This past weekend, Marcos Sobrino, Meli Buenimasi, and Richard Mercado proudly represented A&B Boxing Club at the Jr. Golden Gloves Tournament in Southern California.
All three athletes put in the work, made weight, and were ready to compete. Unfortunately, Marcos and Meli were left without opponents after weigh-ins and were awarded walkover victories, earning the title of Jr. Golden Gloves State Champions in their respective 154 lb divisions. 🏅🏅
Richard Mercado battled through a stacked bracket in just his second bout, showing tremendous heart, toughness, and improvement. We are extremely proud of the way he represented our team.
A huge thank you to Coach Brayan and Coach Serena for their support and dedication throughout the weekend.
Not every tournament goes as planned, but every experience helps us grow. Back to the gym and back to work! 💪🥊
🏆 Boxers: Marcos Sobrino & Meli Buenimasi & Richard Mercado

This past weekend our boxer Meli Buenimasi stepped into the ring at the National Silver Gloves in Missouri, representing as Region 8 champion. 🥊
Making it to this stage is not easy. It takes countless hours in the gym, discipline, sacrifice, and the courage to step into the ring against the best young fighters in the country.
We are incredibly proud of Meli for earning his place on this national stage and representing our team and community with heart.
Every experience at this level is a lesson. We take what we learn, grow from it, and come back stronger. This is only the beginning for Meli, and we know there are many big things ahead for him.
Thank you to everyone who supports our athletes and believes in the work we’re doing. The journey continues.

🥇 CA STATE CHAMPION 🥇
This weekend our guy Meli put on an incredible performance, facing two tough opponents representing Northern California and coming out on top to earn the California State Championship 👑🔥
On top of that, Meli was awarded Outstanding Boxer, a true reflection of his skill, composure, and heart inside the ring.
With this win, he’ll now be representing California at Regionals, and we couldn’t be more proud of the work he’s put in to get here.
Every fight is a lesson. We’re taking this experience, making adjustments, tightening the details, and continuing to improve — because the work never stops 💪🥊
