Did you know that a child's first journal is often a drawing?
Long before children learn to write letters and words, they begin recording their thoughts, experiences, observations, and imagination through pictures.
What may look like a simple scribble to an adult can be a family adventure, a favorite memory, a dream, or a story unfolding in a child's mind.
Drawing helps children organize their thinking, develop creativity, strengthen fine motor skills, and build the foundation for future writing and literacy. It is one of the earliest ways children learn to communicate who they are and how they see the world.
Parent Tip:
The next time your child shows you a drawing, ask:
"Can you tell me the story of your picture?"
Then listen. You may hear imagination, memory, emotion, and meaning come alive.
At Meyal International, we honor this important stage of development by providing children with opportunities to create, explore, express themselves, and share their ideas every day through art, storytelling, inquiry, and meaningful experiences.
Because every great writer begins with a crayon.
A scribble today. A story tomorrow.

What may look like simple handwriting practice is actually powerful brain development happening in real time.
Recent neuroscience research found that when children write by hand, multiple regions of the brain activate and communicate together at the same time, especially the areas connected to memory, learning, sensory processing, coordination, and language development. Researchers discovered that handwriting creates far more brain activity than typing.
Why?
Because writing by hand requires children to coordinate tiny movements between their fingers, eyes, memory, and spatial awareness while forming each individual letter. Every curve, line, and shape asks the brain to solve a small problem.
Typing does not create the same level of neurological engagement because every key uses nearly the same movement pattern.
Researchers also found that children who physically write letters and numbers are better able to recognize, understand, and remember them because they are learning through movement, touch, and sensory connection, not simply through screens.
At Meyal International, we believe children learn best through meaningful hands on experiences that engage the whole child.
When children write, draw, paint, build, create, and explore, they are strengthening:
• Fine motor coordination
• Early literacy skills
• Memory and comprehension
• Focus and concentration
• Critical thinking
• Creativity
• Problem solving
• Confidence and independence
Sometimes the slower process is actually the deeper learning.

Tiny hands. Big learning.
In this activity, the children explored clean hands, dirty hands, and germs through art.
It may look like a simple art activity, but so much learning is happening in this one experience.
Through this hands on lesson, children are developing:
• Early science and hygiene concepts
• Cause and effect relationships
• Language and vocabulary development
• Creativity and self expression
• Fine motor coordination and hand strength
• Observation and critical thinking
• Healthy habits and independence
Children learn best when they can touch, create, ask questions, and make connections to real life.
At Meyal International, we love turning everyday lessons into joyful learning experiences that help children grow in confidence, curiosity, independence, and care for themselves and others.

What may look like play is actually the foundation for critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Wooden blocks help children strengthen problem solving, creativity, spatial awareness, focus, coordination, and early math and engineering thinking. As children build, stack, balance, and explore, they are also developing patience, confidence, and resilience.
Open ended play materials invite imagination, curiosity, and deeper learning because there is no “right way” to play.
At Meyal International, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through joyful hands on exploration.
Play is the work of childhood.
Building confidence, creativity, and critical thinking one block at a time.
