This one was a gem to paint. It's an elemental piece: composition and structure, reflections and undercurrent views, Yin and Yang movement. I love how everything opens and expands, like an accordion, as the foreground moves forward from the background. This painting will soon be on view at Andra Norris Gallery, Burlingame, CA.

I've been hunkering to get in another evocative California high desert desolate Route 66 painting; and here it is, fresh off the easel. This piece will be heading soon to Washington Gallery, Waco TX.

I am very honored to be exhibiting my work back in Palm Desert! Dawson-Cole Fine Art Gallery is taking on some of my largest work to date - two 72’” x 60”s, and one 60” x 40”. All of them will be large-scale, vertical contemplations on Midcentury Modern architecture, bold compositions and light quality, with the backdrop of the desert hills and rocky mountains. “Vortex” was one of those paintings that captured me for its duration on my easel, and I gave it everything I had. Yin and Yang composition, the moment before a big wave breaks, and the end of a journey for a force of energy that had traveled for hundreds, if not thousands, of miles on the ocean surface. I’ve included a few detailed photos, showing that the painting can look abstract up close, and as a complete symphony taken in as a whole. This painting will be on view at Sue Greenwood Fine Art in Laguna Beach.
