I had to do a double take when I saw this.

As creators, we all know a video isn’t just a video. There’s brainstorming, following a creative brief, filming, multiple takes, lighting, editing, and delivering content that performs.

I’m not posting this to shame anyone. I’m genuinely wondering…

Are we unintentionally lowering the value of UGC by accepting offers like this, or is this just the new reality?

Definitely not on our itinerary, but when the boys decided they wanted to get their ears pierced, we found a tattoo studio just a short walk from where we were staying.
I was honestly so impressed by how clean, sterile, and professional the entire experience was. They used a needle, explained every step, and made sure the boys were comfortable throughout.
The funniest part? The piercer also took a look at my newest ear piercing from the mall. He said it was healing well, but that a needle would have allowed for more precise placement. He even told me that if I ever decide I’m unhappy with where it sits, I can simply let it close and have it repierced later. I appreciated that he wasn’t trying to scare me—just sharing his professional perspective.
The boys had such a great first piercing experience, and we came home with a vacation souvenir that will last a lot longer than a T-shirt.

I just wrapped up my second month doing UGC and honestly… I’m still processing how fast things can shift when you actually take action.

When I started, I overthought everything—lighting, scripts, outfits, what brands would think. Meanwhile, brands aren’t looking for perfection… they’re looking for real, relatable content that converts.

This approval? One take. No over-editing. No stressing for hours.
