Alisse Cottle and Jessica Borrayo are more than the co-owners of Brew Coffee and Beer House—they are partners in life, in business, and in building community.

The two met while working in coffee, where a shared passion quickly grew into something more. In 2015, they opened Brew in Santa Rosa, creating a space that reflects who they are: welcoming, intentional, and rooted in connection.

“We’re partners in life and business, and we wanted to be who we are in our business,” Cottle shares. “We let everyone know that we’re family here.”

That sense of family shapes everything they do. From raising their children in and around the café to building relationships with local bakers, roasters, and makers, they’ve created more than a business—they’ve created a space where people feel seen, valued, and included.

Over the years, Brew has become a gathering place for artists, musicians, and the LGBTQIA+ community, hosting events and uplifting local creatives.

As honorees, Alisse and Jessica are recognized not just for what they’ve built, but for how they’ve built it—with care, authenticity, and a deep commitment to community.
