Join students and families across Sonoma County in celebrating International Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 7. Led locally by the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition, this annual event encourages students to walk, bike, scooter, skate or roll to school while promoting healthy habits, safer routes and active transportation.

Even if you can only walk or ride part of the way, every trip counts. Let's make the trip to school a little healthier, safer and more fun!

Some people call this time of year pumpkin spice season. Some call it spooky season. At Safe Routes to Schools, we cal it BIKE RODEO SEASON! The truck is loaded and we’re ready to go!

Join the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition for a Community Bike Ride with the Healdsburg Regional Library this Friday, Sept 25! We'll meet at the library at 3:45 p.m. and follow the BiblioBike on a short route around town before returning for giveaways and snacks. The ride is suitable for all ages. Bring your working bike and a helmet. See you there!

Thank you to all the wonderful SCBC Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition member volunteers who helped us with bagging swag for our annual International Walk & Roll to School Day event! We had to count and organize hundreds of posters, stickers, banners, pencils, pencil sharpeners, little notebooks and more into bags for 63 participating schools. Bags are then delivered to all those schools by another set of over 15 additional volunteers! It really takes a village to get these fun promotional items to our partner schools, and we appreciate all of the SCBC members who support this effort!

We're still looking for a few volunteers to help with deliveries to schools across the county in advance of Walk and Roll to School Day! Sign up to help deliver bags between Wednesday, Sept. 16 and Monday, Sept. 21 during school hours. Please note that you will need to pick bags up at the SCBC office in Santa Rosa between 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Spent the morning getting 4th graders at Manzanita and Helen Lehman Elementary schools ready for their Bike Rodeos in October!

Just had an epic Bike Rack Pop-Up Party at Meadow Elementary! 32 bikes and 6 scooters came to party!!!

Welcome back to school! We are excited to start walking and rolling to school – and anywhere – this year! This September, we challenge you to form a group with two or more students or families to walk or roll to school or to another destination for fun, connection, and safety in numbers! Form a group with two or more students from neighboring families to walk (or park & walk), scooter, bike, carpool, or ride the bus together. Then, tell us your travel success story so we can share it to inspire others! We will select three inspiring buddy travel groups to highlight in our newsletter, and will award $50.00 to each of the winning travel groups! &roll
