October 1-11, 1931:
Daimler-Benz AG presents the 170 model (W 15) to the public at the Paris Motor Show. An innovative feature of this model was its advanced chassis design concept, as the first Mercedes-Benz series-produced passenger car with "independent axles," i.e. individual wheel suspension, at front and rear.
During the depression years, the W 15 was clearly the "right car at the right time," as Daimler-Benz AG's smallest passenger car model.
