Arlo, one of our ring-tailed lemurs, paused for a quick photo while enjoying a tasty treat. We'd say he's mastered the art of living in the moment... and finding his best angle.

Hoof trimming is hard necessary work!

Some species in the zoo world need a little extra help to maintain hoof growth. In the wild when certain animals have hoof issues they don’t receive any outside assistance and this can lead to decline in health. Thanks to veterinary teams and zoological staff the animals at Safari West receive the best level of preventative care.

The boys are getting more comfortable with one another!

As Ongava and Ozzy, our southern white rhino males, continue settling into life together, their play sessions are becoming more frequent... and a little more rambunctious! They're beginning to test boundaries, which is all part of the process as they learn to navigate their new family dynamic.

Of course, Eesha is never far away. She keeps a watchful eye on every interaction, stepping in when needed and making sure everyone remembers the rules.

Watching this family continue to build trust with one another has been an exciting milestone, and we can't wait to share more of their journey with you.

Shenzi has my whole heart. 🥹🖤

I got to watch her keeper work with her on injection training, and this sweet old lady was such a GOOD GIRL. 🥹 She has the cutest face and the sweetest little grandma energy.

Would absolutely risk it all for Shenzi. 😂🖤

Every time I get to work with them, their intelligence surprises me. Watching these Red River Hogs train, problem-solve, and interact with their keepers was such a cool experience.

Pigs deserve way more credit for how smart they are! 🐷🧠
