The Sustainable SRJC program will host its annual Green Living Fair on October 22, 2026, 3:30-5:30 p.m., on the Santa Rosa Campus Quad. The event brings students, faculty, staff, and community members together to learn practical ways to make more sustainable choices and extend the life of the things they own.
The event will focus on reuse and repair, with SRJC clubs, local groups, and community organizations sharing information and hands-on resources for reducing waste. Attendees can learn about repair, recycling, and other ways to keep useful items in circulation rather than sending them to the landfill.
The Green Living Fair will feature a variety of activities and resources, including:
- A garment mending bar for simple clothing repairs
- A clothing swap to give gently used clothing a new home
- Bicycle repair assistance
- Small appliance repair
- Freecycle giveaways featuring items available for reuse
- Upcycled crafts and other creative reuse activities

How can we constructively navigate AI while preserving and elevating the essential depth of human thought? This is the main theme of this fall's series of AI talks organized by the SRJC's Game Development Program and the Web and Mobile Development Program.
On October 9, 2026, at 11 am, you can learn from Andrew Sniderman, educator, writer, and founder of Wirepine Digital.
Andrew Sniderman spent 30 years in big tech, including 20 at Microsoft, before going independent. He now teaches high schoolers to build and ship software with AI, and runs Wirepine Digital, doing web work for Sonoma County nonprofits and small businesses. He writes TechTales, a newsletter on technology's past, its future, and the people caught in the middle.

The SRJC Scholarship application is now open - please let everyone know!
Students have until November 5, 2026, to apply for multiple awards available through santarosa.awardspring.com.
More than 600 SRJC Foundation Scholarships are within reach with ONE application. The Doyle Housing Scholarship is also available during this application cycle for eligible students residing in Poly Hall.
Most SRJC scholarships are available to continuing students, so if you are currently attending the college, you can apply for awards that may provide financial support as early as Spring 2027.

Join us in celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day at Santa Rosa Junior College on Monday, October 12, 2026, 11 AM – 3 PM, at the Burbank Outdoor Stage Area on the Santa Rosa campus.
The SRJC Native American Center and the Native American Faculty and Staff Association organize this annual event to bring our campus and community together to recognize and celebrate the cultures, traditions, histories, contributions, and continuing presence of Indigenous peoples.
Throughout the day, you can experience Native dancing, Native drumming, community speakers, Native vendors & informational booths, food, community, connection, and celebration.
This is an opportunity to come together, learn, celebrate, and build community while supporting the Native American students and families who are an important part of the SRJC community.

Reminder: The second Annual Disability Culture Fest will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., in the Bertolini Quad and Student Activities Center on the Santa Rosa Campus. The Disability Cultural Center planned a resource fest with more than 30 departments and organizations, accessible yoga, yard games, an art show, free pizza for the first 200 attendees, and more.
