The Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education is proud to announce Dr. Monica Thomas as the new Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Thomas brings over 25 years of educational leadership serving diverse communities. The Board will take formal action on Dr. Thomas’s appointment at their June 10 regular meeting.
"Dr. Thomas has a proven track record in district-wide strategy. Her genuine, collaborative approach to leadership makes her the ideal partner to guide our district," said Nick Caston, Board President. "She understands the importance of empowering our teachers, parents, and staff to work collectively to elevate student outcomes."

Our Elsie Allen Lobos Mariachi band is headed to the happiest place on earth!
Santa Rosa student Mariachi band raising money for Disneyland trip A student mariachi band from Elsie Allen High School is raising money for a Disneyland trip after being invited to perform during the park’s 70th anniversary celebration.
Thank you ABC7 for visiting Elsie Allen High School to highlight our amazing Mariachi Band who are working to perform for the first time at Disneyland next month. Grateful to our Elsie Allen High community and to their incredible Mariachi Band Director Efraín Nava!

Piner High School students in our CTE Culinary pathway were straight fire 🔥 at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State Leadership conference in Riverside!
Congratulations to:
- Kimathi Atkinson, Henry Tang and Julie Tran for their 1st place W in Food Innovation for their snack made with local ingredients!
- Iayanna Bustamante Rodriguez for earning 2nd place in Culinary Arts out of 53 top student chefs!
- Ben Hernandez for his leadership as the State Vice President of Finance, coordinating many of the large group activities during the conference
- Piner's local Region 3/5 for Best Cheer!
