SHARDS OF HISTORY ARTIST RECEPTION ON SATURDAY FROM 12-3PM

On Saturday afternoon, August 29th, from 12-3pm, there will be an Artist Reception and Closing Party for Shards of History by Greg Freeman. Everyone is invited!

We've enjoyed having these beautiful stained glass pieces displayed for sale in our windows. Each piece is made from found glass that Greg has been collecting for decades! The glass dates from the 1800s to the present. Stop by to meet Greg and maybe purchase one of these beautiful pieces to display in your own home before they're gone!

Our RED, WHITE & BLUE small works exhibit is ending on Saturday, August 29th. On Sunday, August 30th, we'll be accepting submissions for our new small works exhibit,

REMINDER: We are continuing to accept your donations for REDWOOD EMPIRE FOOD BANK (non-perishable food items) and SONOMA COUNTY ACTS OF KINDNESS (personal care items for unsheltered).

REMINDER - CALL FOR ENTRIES:

On Sunday, August 30th, 11am-3pm, the Santa Rosa Arts Center will accept submissions for our next small works exhibit, BENEATH THE SURFACE.

We invite artists to submit up to two small works in any medium that explore what is beneath the surface of the ground, the ocean, the furniture, our mind, a person's words or actions, or any other ideas artists can express. Artwork submitted must be no more than 12" in any direction and 2D pieces must be properly wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers).

This show begins on September 3 and will continue through October 31st. The First Friday Opening Reception is on September 4th from 5-8pm.

IT'S THE WEEKEND! 🥳

Another weekend is here! There's plenty to see and do this weekend in the SOFA (South of A Street) Arts District of Santa Rosa. Enjoy a stroll through Julliard Park, have brunch at Café Little Deer or Red Bird Bakery or Spinster Sisters, then visit the Santa Rosa Arts Center!

Our two current exhibits are FORCES OF NATURE and RED, WHITE & BLUE (Small Works). This is the last full weekend to view our RED, WHITE & BLUE small works exhibit, which ends August 29th. Our gift shop includes crafts, jewelry, pottery, and books - all by local authors and makers. Plenty to view and to purchase!

Our regular hours are Thursdays through Sundays, 11am to 3pm and First Fridays from 5-8pm.

SANTA ROSA OPEN STUDIOS & PREVIEW EXHIBITION

Did you know that the Santa Rosa Arts Center is a participating gallery in the Santa Rosa Open Studios? The Open Studios event will take place the second and third weekends in September, so MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

You can get a sneak peek of artwork from the participating artists at the ARTISTS' PREVIEW EXHIBITION at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa now through September 2nd. There will also be a RECEPTION & ARTISTS' GALA on September 2nd from 6-8pm at the Finley Center to end the Preview Exhibit and kick-off the open studios starting the following weekend. EVERYONE IS INVITED!

Many of our artist members and volunteers are part of the Santa Rosa Open Studios event in September and have artwork in the Preview Exhibit. Stop by the Finley Center to see the phenomenal artwork by participating artists! And MARK YOUR CALENDARS for SANTA ROSA OPEN STUDIOS - September 12th-13th & 19th-20th, 10am - 4pm.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SEPTEMBER'S FIRST FRIDAY IN THE SOFA ARTS DISTRICT!

The Santa Rosa Arts Center is in the heart of Santa Rosa's SOFA (South of A Street) Arts District. On September 4th, from 5-8pm, the SOFA Arts District will host its exciting monthly First Friday event.

During the First Friday SOFA event, the Santa Rosa Arts Center will have an opening reception for our new small works exhibit, BENEATH THE SURFACE. Stop by to see the wonderful artwork in this new exhibit, meet the artists, and make purchases from our exhibits or our gift shop. All are welcome!

REGISTER NOW for THE PLEASURES OF COLLAGE, a collage studio workshop taught by our director, Simmon Factor. Monday and Tuesday, September 14 & 15, 1-4pm. $40 for each class to benefit the Santa Rosa Arts Center.

THIS WEEK AT THE SANTA ROSA ARTS CENTER:

REGISTER TODAY for THE PLEASURES OF COLLAGE, a workshop taught by our director, Simmon Factor - Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 14 & 15, from 1-4pm. $40 per class to benefit the SRAC. Some materials will be provided.

Also in September, MARK YOUR CALENDARS for SANTA ROSA OPEN STUDIOS. The SRAC will be part of this event, along with many of our artist members and volunteers.
