🏁 DRIVER SPOTLIGHT #29— DEVON ZUFFA 🏁

For our next Driver Spotlight, we’re featuring a racer who represents much more than what happens on the track.

For Devon Zuffa, his priorities are clear — God and family come first. Racing is a huge part of his life, but nothing means more to him than his wife and two young children. In fact, family is a big part of the reason Devon found his way back into the sport after spending many years away from racing.

If you’ve had the opportunity to meet Devon in the pits, you already know the kind of person he is. You would be hard-pressed to find a nicer or humbler individual. Whether things are going his way or he’s dealing with one of the many setbacks that racing can throw at you, his attitude and appreciation for simply having the opportunity to race never seem to change.

His story is also one of perseverance. From racing quarter midgets as a kid, to stepping away from the sport, and then returning as an adult with something to prove to himself, Devon has steadily built Zuffa Motorsports into a competitive family racing operation.

But behind the wins, trophies and race cars is a husband, father and man of faith who hopes that someday his children will share the same love for racing that he grew up with.

For this edition of our Driver Spotlight, we turn things over to Devon Zuffa to tell his story in his own.

My name is Devon Zuffa, I’m 31 years old, and I’m the driver for Zuffa Motorsports.

My racing career started at just 6 years old in quarter midgets. From there, I moved into micro sprints, racing them from the age of 10 until I was 13. After many years away from the sport, my racing career started all over again in 2024 when I decided it was time to buy a car and see if I could still do it.

I started out with a cheap car because, more than anything, I wanted to prove to myself that I could still drive. During my rookie season at Antioch Speedway, we picked up a Main Event win along with three Top-3 finishes. That was enough to earn our team Rookie of the Year honors and a 4th-place finish in the championship points.

After proving to myself that I could still compete, I knew it was time to invest more into our racing program. My dad and I purchased a newer car, but the 2025 season brought its own challenges. We missed nearly half the season while waiting for our new engine, but despite the setback, we still managed to finish 4th in points for the season.

The 2026 season has been both very rewarding and extremely difficult. We started the year battling one gremlin after another. We’ve led Main Events only to have our night ended by something as simple as a broken bolt, a failed toggle switch or battery failure—and we even suffered the complete loss of an engine.

But through all those setbacks, there have also been plenty of bright spots. So far in 2026, we’ve collected 7 Heat Race wins and 3 Main Event victories between Antioch Speedway and Petaluma Speedway.

None of this would be possible without the love and support of my family and our sponsors. Above all, all glory goes to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without His daily blessings, I would not have the opportunity in life to be doing something that I truly love.

Zuffa Motorsports is, first and foremost, a family-oriented race team. My father and I own the race car, while Rick Rios—our “adopted family”—owns the trailer, truck and shop and is a huge part of making this program possible.

My wife and kids are there for all of our hometown races, and family is really the biggest reason I got back into racing. I wanted my son to have the opportunity to grow up around this sport, just like I did, with the hope that maybe one day he’ll climb behind the wheel and drive for me.

Now I have a daughter as well, and I hope she grows up loving racing and maybe even follows in my footsteps too.

At the end of the day, Zuffa Motorsports is about more than wins and trophies. It’s about family, faith, perseverance, and giving the next generation the same opportunity to fall in love with racing that I had growing up. 🏁

🔥 Driver Spotlight # 28 :Justin Zwicker 🔥
Some racers are born into the sport. Others find their way to it. For Justin Zwicker, racing has always been woven into the fabric of his life.
Long before he ever climbed behind the wheel of a race car, Justin was surrounded by horsepower. Whether it was listening to stories about his dad and brother racing dirt bikes, spending Sundays watching NASCAR, or somehow finding his way from his car seat into the driver’s seat of the family vehicle as a kid, the passion for racing was impossible to ignore. Looking back, Justin jokes that while his parents may not have expected him to become a racer, they certainly aren’t surprised.
His first trip to Petaluma Speedway in 2011 or 2012 planted the seed that would eventually become reality. Alongside his father, Gary, and uncle, Fred Campigli, Justin spent countless nights in the pits thanks to his uncle’s hay business sponsoring sprint cars and micro sprints. While everyone else focused on the action on the track, Justin couldn’t wait for the races to end so he could climb into the race cars, study every detail, and imagine what it would be like to drive one himself.
At the time, racing seemed like nothing more than a dream.
Everything changed in 2018.
After spending another summer attending races with his dad, the two couldn’t stop talking about how incredible it would be to own a race car. Then, almost overnight, fate stepped in. Family friend Ron Dickerson called Justin and said :
“Get outside. We’re getting your dad a race car.”
By the end of that day, a Joe Carr Dirt Modified was sitting in the family garage—carefully snuck in before Justin’s mom got home. Needless to say, she wasn’t exactly thrilled with the surprise!
From that moment forward, countless evenings were spent in the garage preparing the car for Gary’s 2019 rookie season. Justin quickly discovered that working on the race car was just as rewarding as watching it compete. When his dad capped off the season with Rookie of the Year honors and a fourth-place finish in points, Justin knew it was finally time to chase his own dream.
As plans for his own race car became reality, the family expanded into the race shop they still work out of today. While many expected him to start in the Mini Stock division, Justin already knew exactly where he wanted to race.
The Super/Pro Stocks had captured his attention from the very beginning.
He still remembers watching unforgettable battles featuring Woody Woodward’s orange car, Steve Studebakers red machine, and the late Shawn McCoy’s iconic blue car. Those races left a lasting impression and inspired Justin to pursue the class he had admired for years.
When the right car became available in Oregon, Gary and Ron made the long drive north to bring it home. Justin then poured countless hours into transforming it into a race-ready machine for the 2020 season.
His rookie year was unlike any other.
The COVID-shortened 2020 season meant racing in front of empty grandstands and without an official championship battle. Even though points weren’t officially awarded, Justin’s performance spoke for itself. Had they counted, he would have finished third in the standings and earned Rookie of the Year—something his dad still enjoys reminding him never officially happened!
One of Justin’s proudest moments came after the 2023 season. Wanting to continue making memories together, he surprised his father by purchasing a Super Stock so they could compete side-by-side.
For Justin, those moments racing alongside his dad mean more than any trophy.
The countless hours spent in the shop, working through late nights, loading up for race weekends, and sharing the track together have become memories he’ll cherish forever. Racing has given him lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, and a second family within the racing community.
Justin is quick to recognize that none of it would be possible without the incredible people standing behind him. He extends heartfelt thanks to his parents, Bob Grenier, his dedicated crew members, and every sponsor who continues to support his racing journey.

🔥 CAMRON DIATTE COMPLETES THE WEEKEND SWEEP! 🏁🏆

Camron Diatte continues to establish himself as one of the hottest Dwarf Car drivers in the country, putting together a perfect weekend in Northern California with two heat race wins and two Main Event victories at Watsonville Speedway and Petaluma Speedway.

🏆 FRIDAY — MARK BISCARDI MEMORIAL | WATSONVILLE SPEEDWAY

Friday night brought 38 Dwarf Cars to Watsonville Speedway for the inaugural Mark Biscardi Memorial, with the field so strong a C-Main was needed.

Diatte started the night by grabbing a heat race victory, putting him fourth on the grid for the A-Main.

With a Legacy Chassis underneath him that allowed him to search the racetrack and run multiple lines, Diatte worked his way forward and found himself in the lead around lap six.

Then came the real challenge.

Late in the race, the right-rear tire began losing air. During a red flag, Ryan Diatte was able to signal from the fence that the tire had gone completely flat.

Rather than surrender the lead and head to the work area, Camron elected to stay on the racetrack, build as much heat into the tire as possible before the restart and take his chances.

It held.

Diatte somehow nursed the car home and crossed the finish line first, earning an emotional victory in a race that meant much more than another trophy.

Mark Biscardi had been one of the first people to ask Camron about the Legacy Chassis after Camron first drove one at Santa Maria last June. As Mark’s own Legacy car came together, the two became closer, and Camron saw firsthand not only how meticulous Mark was about racing, but how much he cared about the people around him.

Putting a Legacy Chassis in Victory Lane for Mark made Friday night’s win one Camron won’t soon forget.

🏁 SATURDAY — PETALUMA SPEEDWAY

Twenty-four hours later, Diatte and the Legacy crew headed to a newly reworked Petaluma Speedway.

The improvements showed immediately.

Petaluma produced a fast, multi-groove racetrack that allowed drivers to race from top to bottom, and Camron wasted little time getting back to work.

Another heat race win put Diatte on the outside of the front row for the 20-lap Main Event.

The feature was fast-paced and physical.

Camron and Joseph Lingron had contact after Diatte admittedly overcooked the bottom entering turn one and slid up the racetrack. Fortunately, both drivers were able to continue.

And when the checkered flag flew?

Diatte was back in Victory Lane.

Lingron came home second, even giving Camron a push across the finish line as the pair completed a 1-2 finish.

The night also included a frightening crash involving Legacy Chassis builder Chad Matthias, who made heavy contact following an incident with Lingron’s 1R. Matthias was able to climb from the car under his own power and was feeling good the following day — another example of the emphasis Legacy places on chassis safety.

Camron also gave a special shoutout to Callie R. Whiting, who earned her first Top-5 finish, continuing the steady improvement she’s shown through her hard work and perseverance.

From surviving a completely flat right-rear tire Friday night to backing it up with another victory Saturday, Camron Diatte’s incredible 2026 season continues.

And while two wins make for an impressive weekend, Friday night’s victory meant something bigger.

They got to put a Legacy Chassis in Victory Lane for Mark.

Congratulations to Camron Diatte and the entire team on a weekend they won’t soon forget.

And congratulations to South Bay Dwarf Cars for putting together a tremendous memorial event honoring Mark Biscardi.

Bittersweet doesn't begin to describe it.

The 65th Knoxville Nationals marked the end of an incredible era. When the 66th annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals takes the green in 2027, for the first time in generations, there will not be a Swindell or a Kinser in the field.

Two names that helped define sprint car racing. Two families whose battles at Knoxville became legendary. Sammy Swindell and Steve Kinser fought some of the fiercest battles the sport has ever seen, but sometimes the moments away from the record books tell the best stories.

As Sammy was getting ready to climb into the car, he had a very special visitor stop by to make sure everything was in order: “The King” himself, Steve Kinser.

Kinser even helped buckle Sammy into the car, leading to the perfect question:

“Did you take a swing at him for old times’ sake?”

Sammy's answer?

“I did not want him to spill his beer!”

And just like that, decades of rivalry, respect, friendship and history were wrapped into one unforgettable laugh.

There may have been plenty of battles between the Swindells and the Kinsers over the years, but moments like this remind us what makes racing so special. The trophies and victories become part of the history books. The friendships, stories and memories become part of the sport's soul.

Thank you, Sammy, for the memories, the laughs and everything you have given sprint car racing. And thank you to both the Swindell and Kinser families for helping make Knoxville what it is today.

The next Knoxville Nationals will feel a little different.

The 66th annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals is scheduled for August 11-14, 2027, following the 360 Knoxville Nationals on August 5-7 and the Capitani Classic on August 8.

🏁 Remembering Roger Miller — 2/6/60 – 8/17/26 🏁

Today, our racing family lost one of the truly good ones.

Roger Miller was the kind of person who made an impression on you not by being the loudest in the room, but simply by being one of the kindest and most gentle people you could ever hope to know. Roger had a heart as big as they come. If you needed help, he was there. He was the type of man who would quite literally give you the shirt off his back and never expect anything in return.

Racing was a big part of Roger's life. Over the years he wore many hats — racer, business owner, track official, and push truck operator — but no matter what role he was filling, Roger was always willing to lend a hand and do whatever needed to be done. He wasn't just someone you saw at the racetrack; he was part of what made the racetrack feel like family.

But as much as racing meant to Roger, nothing compared to his family. He was deeply loved and adored by those closest to him, and that says more about the man he was than any trophy, checkered flag, or accomplishment ever could.

There are certain people who quietly make the world around them a better place simply by being in it. Roger was one of those people.

Tonight, the racing community is a little quieter and our hearts are a lot heavier. We will miss his kindness, his gentle nature, his friendship, and that familiar face around the racetrack.

Our deepest condolences go out to Roger's family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

One final race. One final lap.

And this time, the checkered flags are waiting for you in Heaven.

🏁 A Special Moment for Redwood Dwarf Car Association Driver Brody Byrne 🏁

At just 14 years old and competing in his rookie season with the Redwood Dwarf Car Association, Brody Byrne experienced a special milestone in his young racing career. At the conclusion of hot laps, Brody was called over to the front stretch just below the flag stand, where track official Jason Sabol had the honor of removing Brody’s rookie flags and handing them back to him. Having those flags removed is more than just a racing tradition — it represents the laps completed, experience gained, and confidence earned behind the wheel. It was a pretty special moment for this young driver and one that Brody will surely remember as he continues to learn, improve, and make his way through the racing ranks. The rookie flags may be coming off, but for Brody Byrne, the journey is just getting started. 🏁
