The McDonald Mansion, also known as Mableton, is a historic Victorian home located in Santa Rosa, CA. Mableton was originally built in 1877 as a summer home by Colonel Mark L. Subsequent generations of the McDonald family maintained possession of the mansion until the death of Marcia McDonald in 1971, whereupon it was willed to the University of California and Stanford. More recently the McDonald Mansion has been beautifully renovated and restored to reflect its former Victorian beauty. Mableton is a private residence that is not open to the public except on special occasions such as for Halloween and charity events. Weddings and other private functions are not held on the grounds.
