My love, — we are fkn living — so much more than most, on this crazy insane Earth ride, hands held, taking it on, taking it in, fully immersed, together. It’s a gift we give to each other.

These are just 20 moments of thousands that belong in a never ending highlight reel of us. Choosing is impossible. Random felt kinda appropriate.

I’m so grateful to have a partner who engages with the world the way you do — totally committed to experiencing the full human range of emotions and feelings (* even when that means Princess bb brat mode is fully activated. I mean s**t, I am one of the most challenging people I know, so deeply anchored in conviction, passion, logical accuracy, justice. I can be so unnecessarily annoying. Bless you for your patience with me). Our spectrum of true being is both wider and more colorful because of each other. Sometimes we might be too much the same and that can create conflict — too bold, too big, too loud, too charged. We aren’t particularly easy, we aren’t particularly calm. We fill space. We stand strong. But there is a beautiful simplicity and a perfect stillness to the way we connect, in private, in public, in the now. The love we share is much more profound than the perception of us or the struggles we may endure.

I love you. I love the fighter and the lover you are. And I love our nonstop shared experiences that seem like a dope ass movie, as a couple, as a family, as individuals, as us. 😘🥰❤️‍🔥💘💪🏽🫶🏽😍

** Also, you hella fine af. That part too. 🍆😈🥵

GREAT NEWS! The EDM Tunes piece is out. This is some highly favorable press from an utmost relevant publication.

If you don’t know — EDM Tunes (after DJ Mag) is one of, if not the next biggest media outlet in the world dedicated to electronic music.

I didn’t see this coming… it’s glowing, and I’m grateful.

“The world of Dance music is full of surprises, and some of them are truly spectacular. Such is the case with us having found out about Truthlive, a special producer from San Francisco, who’s got to the ears of many, and the worldwide charts lately too. And the best part of it all is, he’s got no one style to stick to: he masters many trades…

Just off the heels of two monumental releases, and the potential Evan has of absolutely blowing up sometime soon, this was the best time to get an interview with him.”

I was told by a professional associate that the editor had heard both of my recent singles, was impressed by them, and wanted to do an interview with me. That was wonderful feedback on its own! I didn’t know there was going to be commentary/editorializing.

It feels good to get this sort of organic co-sign from the top of the industry when I’m a very well-established DJ but modestly still an early-stage electronic producer/artist. Being on the front page with artists like Tiësto, Dom Dolla, and Skrillex is pretty cool (* very flatteringly, I was told ‘Going Up’ sounds like a Dom + Skrillex hybrid)

There is still quite a ways for me to go from here, but every little bit of your support helps. I appreciate y’all taking the time to engage and boost!

Fun facts —
1. The last commercially released Hip Hop song I rapped on was a Canibus record produced by DJ Premier (“Golden Terra of Rap” iM Remix). We’re pictured here at HeadQCourterz, formerly known as D&D Studios in NYC.
2. The last live performance I did while still on that artistic path was as direct support for Kendrick Lamar at a show where I may have sold almost as many tickets as he did— shortly after he dropped Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.

I hard-stopped when things were going pretty damn well. Nobody really understood why I made that choice. The momentum was strong. I fully withdrew and moved home to Santa Rosa from LA.

I had the honor of being in spaces with true legends like the two in this photo and so many others (no more name-dropping for this story time). I had opportunities I dreamt of and visualized as a teenager selling burned CDs out of my backpack and trunk, recording songs in tiny bedrooms with limited equipment.

I’ve lived multiple full lives in my musical journey. I’ve had incredible experiences and learning opportunities to grow from.

But the long-term thing I learned most from that era was to find joy in music, be authentic to myself, and not worry about the predetermined box other people think I belong in.

I pivoted out of that time by going back to DJing. I kinda sucked when I picked it back up (it’s how I started—self-taught at 13—but by 17 I was only rapping and producing). DJing helped me rediscover my love for music. I had lost it, even while I was rapidly climbing the very mountain I set out to summit.

I became really depressed living in West Hollywood around this time. One night, I almost jumped out of my 14th-floor apartment window. Instead, I threw a bunch of clothes and equipment out the window and kept myself.

It’s been a long, slow, deep recalibration since then. But where I am now is where I want to be.

I always loved Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and The Prodigy as much as I loved Wu-Tang, OutKast, or Dilla.

I’m still very much the same person I was in this photo. The difference now is the music I make reflects the full range of my creative spirit. No rules. ❤️‍🔥
