📅 Happening this Saturday, May 16, join us and the National Park Trust in celebrating this national day of outdoor exploration and play! Join us at our free Kids to Parks Day Scavenger Hunt at Howarth Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Take a self-directed scavenger hunt through the park to reveal the location of the secret prize and enjoy treats and activities along the way! 🔍🗺🎁

Bring the kids, invite your friends, and get ready for an afternoon of outdoor fun!

🎉 Please join us in a big “THANK YOU” to everyone who turned out for the Park-A-Month volunteer workday at Howarth Park on Saturday, May 9, 2026. 🎉

💪 We were 90+ volunteers strong, beautifying the park by...

🗑 Picking up 12 yards of green waste
🚂 Removing wood debris from around the train tracks
🪵 Spreading 40 yards of wood chips in the pony corral and Lower/Upper Oak picnic areas
🛝 Cleaning and adding an additional 4 yards of sand at the playgrounds
🌳 Pruning trees and shrubs at the Lower/Upper Oak picnic areas and around the playgrounds
🖌 Painting picnic tables and benches

Special shoutout to a group of Kaiser Permanente doctors who showed up and volunteered their time and donated drinks and snacks for everyone, and to the staff from Allied Universal, our parks security contractor, who were also in attendance volunteering their time. We truly appreciate the support of all our volunteers that help keep our parks beautiful.

🌧️ Today’s rain means the Howarth Park train, carousel, pony rides, and boat rentals are closed today, April 11. While attractions are paused, the park remains open for anyone looking to enjoy the soothing sights and sounds of nature along our walking trails. Rainy days bring a special kind of magic to Howarth Park 🌿.

Howarth Park pony rides, operated by The Pony Express, will be closed again today, Thursday, March 19, 2026 due to vehicle issues. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
