Education Studio Field Trip! 🎥🔊
Our Education Studio recently stepped out of the office for a behind-the-scenes tour of PCD AV Integrators in Santa Rosa.
PCD President Hal Truax welcomed our team and walked us through their facility, where we explored LED walls, projection systems, acoustics, conferencing technology, and other integrated AV solutions. It was a great opportunity to see the technology firsthand and learn more about how these systems can enhance the spaces we design.
We always value opportunities to connect with industry partners, exchange ideas, and expand our knowledge. A big thank you to Hal and the PCD team for welcoming us and sharing their expertise. We’re excited about the opportunity to work together! 🙌🧡

Last week’s Wine Wednesday took us out of the office and into the field for a site visit at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center. 🏥🧡
Our team had the opportunity to experience firsthand how thoughtful design comes to life, creating healthcare spaces that support patients, caregivers, and staff.
There’s nothing better than getting out from behind our desks, walking the spaces together, and continuing to learn from the environments we help shape.
A special thank you to the Kaiser Permanente team for welcoming us and sharing their time and insights, and to our valued partner, Swinerton, for their ongoing collaboration and dedication. We truly value these longstanding partnerships and the shared commitment that continues to shape meaningful healthcare environments together. 🙌🧡
A great way to wrap up the day, connecting as a team and experiencing the spaces we help shape.

At TLCD, building community goes beyond design. We're proud to support the students, teachers, and schools that help our communities thrive. 📚✏️
Over the past two weeks, the TLCD team came together for an in-office school supplies drive benefiting the teachers and students at the Rincon Valley Union School District.
After partnering with the district to identify the classroom items needed most, our employees generously donated paper, pencils, crayons, sanitizing wipes, and other essential supplies.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make a difference. Your generosity will have a meaningful impact on local students and educators as they head back to school.
We wish all the students, teachers, and staff a fantastic start to the new school year! 🍎📖

At TLCD, a summer highlight is welcoming students from the Mike Hauser Academy (hosted by Santa Rosa Metro Chamber) into our office for two days of hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration. 📐✏️💡🏗️
From sketching and scaling to diving into virtual reality and tackling fun design challenges together, students got a true taste of how ideas become real spaces. The energy, teamwork, and friendly competition brought out everyone’s creative side!
We believe investing in the next generation is one of the most meaningful ways to build stronger communities. Through our partnership with the Mike Hauser Academy, we're proud to share our knowledge, encourage creativity, and inspire future architects, designers, and innovators to discover how thoughtful design can enrich lives and strengthen the communities where we live, learn, work, and play.
Thank you to the TLCD contributing team members and our partners at the Mike Hauser Academy for helping make this another memorable year!

🍷 Wine Wednesday = Site Visit Day! 🚧🏫
There’s nothing like seeing great design come to life in the field! For this week’s Wine Wednesday, the TLCD team visited Helen Lehman Elementary, where construction is making exciting progress on Santa Rosa City Schools' new Transitional Kindergarten campus.
Team members joined Project Architect Ian Heath (TLCD) and Project Engineer Tommy Doherty (Wright Contracting) on-site to review the progress as six new modular TK classrooms take shape. Designed to support California’s Universal TK program, the project provides abundant natural daylight through north-facing clerestory windows, collaborative teacher prep spaces, flexible outdoor learning environments, and age-appropriate play areas—all thoughtfully planned to create an inspiring space for the district’s youngest learners.
It’s always rewarding to watch months of planning and collaboration become reality. We look forward to sharing more updates as this exciting project moves toward completion!
Cheers to another Wine Wednesday in the field!🍷

A day in the life at TLCD Architecture! 📸
Today our team was in Healdsburg capturing new photography of the Foley Family Community Pavilion—and what better backdrop than the vibrant Tuesday Farmers' Market!
It was wonderful to see the pavilion doing exactly what it was designed to do: bringing people together and serving as an active gathering place for the community. Seeing the space filled with local vendors, neighbors, and visitors made today's photo shoot even more special.
From finding the perfect angles to capturing the energy of the market, documenting projects after they're complete is one of our favorite parts of the design process.
Stay tuned! We'll be sharing new professional photography and an updated project page soon.
