🎁 Introducing The Good Gift: A Women for Good Giving Program!

Our Board President, Alex Hailey, is turning 35 this month, and this year she wanted to celebrate a little differently.

After seeing the incredible impact our Women for Good community can have when we come together to give, she is inviting the people in her life to help her celebrate by giving $35 for good.

Alex has chosen Our Village Closet as the nonprofit she'd like to support. Supporting children and families impacted by foster care has been an important part of her life for the past decade, and she wanted to use her birthday as an opportunity to invite her community into making an impact on something she cares deeply about.

And this is exactly what The Good Gift is all about.

At Santa Rosa Women for Good, we've seen firsthand what happens when people come together to give. A small contribution from one person can become something much bigger when many people participate.

So we're asking:
What if your birthday could become a gift to your community?
And why stop at birthdays?

Through The Good Gift, Women for Good members can choose to turn a birthday, anniversary, milestone, or other meaningful celebration into an opportunity to bring the people in their lives together for good. Members choose a nonprofit that's meaningful to them and invite their friends, family, coworkers, and community to join them in giving.

One celebration. One cause. Many people coming together.A whole lot of good.

Join Alex in celebrating 35 years by helping her grow her Good Gift for Our Village Closet.

🎁 Give $35. Give whatever feels right. Give for good.

A little glimpse of what “doing good together” looks like ❤️

It looks like showing up.
It looks like meeting new people.
It looks like volunteering side by side.
It looks like laughing over coffee.
It looks like collecting school supplies and stuffing backpacks.
It looks like learning about the incredible nonprofits working right here in Sonoma County.
And it looks like women coming together to make a difference, one good thing at a time.

We’re so grateful for this community and for every woman who has chosen to be part of it.

This is Santa Rosa Women for Good 🌱

Today was one of those days that fills your heart 🩵

A group of Santa Rosa Women for Good members spent our Saturday volunteering at Our Village Closet’s Annual Back to School Event. Alongside so many incredible volunteers, we helped hundreds of local children impacted by foster care find backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes, school supplies, and everything they need to start the school year with confidence.

One of the things we love most about Our Village Closet is their commitment to providing choice and dignity. Every child and caregiver gets to choose the items that are just right for them, creating an experience that feels empowering, welcoming, and full of care.

We’re so grateful to have been a small part of such a joyful and impactful day, and we’re incredibly thankful to the Women for Good members who gave up part of their Saturday to serve alongside one another. This is what our community is all about: showing up, lending a hand, and doing good together.

Thank you, Our Village Closet, for all you do for children and families in our community and for giving us an opportunity to be a part of it ❤️

Friendships aren't just nice to have: they're essential!

Research shows that strong social connections can reduce the risk of depression and anxiety, improve physical health, and even help people live longer. Yet 39% of adults report having only two or fewer close connections, and many women say making new friendships as adults is one of life's biggest challenges.

That reminds us that the work of building community matters.

At Santa Rosa Women for Good, we're known for the grants we award and the volunteer projects we support. But there's another kind of impact we're incredibly proud of: creating spaces where women can meet, connect, and build meaningful friendships.

Every happy hour conversation, coffee meetup, volunteer project, and member event is an opportunity for someone to walk in knowing no one and leave feeling like they belong.

We've watched women discover shared passions, find collaborators, and become genuine friends. Those connections ripple outward, making our community stronger in ways that can't always be measured.

When people feel connected, they're more likely to show up for one another. They're more likely to volunteer, give back, and invest in the place they call home.

That's the kind of community we're grateful to be building: one where generosity and friendship grow side by side. Thank you to every woman who has joined us, welcomed someone new, started a conversation, or simply showed up.

Together, we're growing the good in our nonprofits, in our neighborhoods, and in each other ❤️

Want to meet some new friends? Join us for our August Happy Hour on 8/12!

A big thank you to Rotary Club of Santa Rosa Sunrise for inviting our Board President, Alex Hailey, to join you this morning to share the story of Santa Rosa Women for Good!

We always appreciate opportunities to connect with other local organizations that are making a difference in our community. Collaboration is one of the things that makes Sonoma County so special, and we're grateful to be part of a network of people who believe in showing up for one another.

Alex had the chance to share how the power of collective giving is helping us make a meaningful impact through local grants, volunteer projects, and community partnerships. But she also spoke about something just as important: the value of connection. Creating a welcoming space where women can build friendships, find purpose, and become more engaged in their community is an impact all its own.

Thank you again Rotarians for the warm welcome and for all you do to strengthen our community. We look forward to finding more ways to collaborate and do even more good together! ❤️

🐾 Congratulations to our Summer 2026 Grow the Good Impact Grant recipient, Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County! ❤️

We're thrilled to announce that our members selected Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County as this quarter's $6,500 Grow the Good Impact Grant recipient.

This organization truly resonated with our members. Their compassionate, volunteer-driven work to improve the lives of community cats through spay and neuter services, medical care, and colony management is creating lasting change throughout Sonoma County. By addressing the root causes of cat overpopulation, they're reducing suffering and building a more humane future for animals in our community.

Here's what our grant means to their team:

"This grant will help us say yes to more unowned cats by supporting spay/neuter, vaccines, medical care, trapping support, and transportation through our Find, Fix, Return work. Because of your generosity, more cats will get the care they need, fewer kittens will be born outdoors, and we'll be one step closer to no more homeless cats."

That is the power of collective giving. ❤️

To every one of our donating Impact Members, thank you. Your generosity is helping local nonprofits expand their reach and make an even greater difference right here in Sonoma County.

Congratulations to Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County! We are honored to be a small part of your mission and can't wait to see the impact this grant will make.
