Tomorrow I turn 47. š
And the older I get, the less I care about trying to make my body look younger.
I want it to be strong enough to carry me through the next 20, 30, 40 years.
I want to hike the hills.
Travel.
Run when I feel like running.
Lift heavy things.
Get up off the floor without thinking twice.
Say yes to the adventures I havenāt even planned yet.
There are wrinkles. Things have shifted. Recovery takes a little longer. š
And Iām definitely learning that what worked for my body at 30 isnāt always what it needs now.
But I also appreciate my body more than I ever have.
So 47 isnāt about fighting aging.
Itās about training for it.
Taking care of myself now so I can keep doing the things I love later.
And really⦠thatās a big part of why I created MOVE. š¤
Hereās to another year of getting stronger, moving because it feels good, and hopefully not taking any of it too seriously.
Sometimes my movement has to fit in between everything else.
Baseball games. Driving. Sitting. Waiting. Cheering from the sidelines.
So if I find 30 minutes to run, I take it.
Not because Iām trying to squeeze in the perfect workout, but because that little bit of time feels good and gives me something thatās mine.
Movement doesnāt have to be all or nothing. It just has to fit into your life. šš¼
Whatās your favorite way to move while traveling?

You donāt need a 10 day vacation. Sometimes you just need 2 hours to breathe, reset, and come back to yourself. āØ
The Shift is a cozy, zero pressure evening created for women who are carrying a lot - the schedules, the mental tabs, the work, the family, the everything in between.
⨠Weāll move, breathe, meditate, and have relaxed conversations around stress, rest and balance. (Mats and props provided)
āØEnjoy refreshing, healthy mocktails and nourishing protein snacks provided on us.
āØYouāll leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and with one simple shift you can take back into real life.
Come on your own or bring a friend. Space is limited.
Early bird pricing $49. End August 26, 2026

A little reminder:
Keep moving. Keep growing. Keep choosing you. š¤
Friendly reminder to support your friends before strangers. And remember...your support costs you nothing & could help change their lives š«¶
I think this is the season where a lot of us are realizing we donāt have to wait until everyone else is taken care of to make a little room for ourselves.
Sometimes that looks like getting back into a workout routine. Sometimes itās a walk, dinner with friends, or finally saying yes to something youāve been wanting to do.
And sometimes itās giving yourself 24 hours away from the usual.
Thatās really the heart behind our womenās retreat in September, delicious healthy food cooked for you, movement, time outside, a massage, lots of space to slow down, and no pressure to be anything for anyone.
If youāve been craving that kind of time, I get it. š¤
Limited space. September 19ā20 in Willits.
I get asked all the time, āWhatās the best workout?ā
The truth is, there isnāt one answer.
The best workout isnāt the one thatās trending or the one that burns the most calories. Itās the one youāll actually look forward to doing and keep coming back to.
For me, itās a mix of strength training, yoga, running, hiking⦠and every now and then, an afternoon paddleboarding.
Movement doesnāt have to fit into one box. It can look different from season to season, and thatās okay.
As summer winds down, Iām reminded that some of the best moments happen when weāre simply outside, moving our bodies, and enjoying the people weāre with.
What kind of movement makes you feel most like yourself? Iād love to hear in the comments. ā¬ļø

The truth about strength training šŖš½
For women, estrogen naturally declines during perimenopause and beyond, it becomes harder to build and keep muscle. Thatās exactly why strength training becomes more important, not less.
Weāre not lifting to get bigger.
Weāre lifting to protect our bones, support our metabolism, maintain muscle, and stay strong enough to do the things we love for years to come.
If youāve been avoiding the weight rack because youāre worried about getting bulky, I hope this gives you permission to rethink it.
Strong looks different on every woman. And I think thatās something worth celebrating.
MOVE Sonoma County is here to help you build strength for lifeānot just for today. š
