Tomorrow I turn 47. šŸŽ‚

And the older I get, the less I care about trying to make my body look younger.

I want it to be strong enough to carry me through the next 20, 30, 40 years.

I want to hike the hills.
Travel.
Run when I feel like running.
Lift heavy things.
Get up off the floor without thinking twice.
Say yes to the adventures I haven’t even planned yet.

There are wrinkles. Things have shifted. Recovery takes a little longer. šŸ˜… And I’m definitely learning that what worked for my body at 30 isn’t always what it needs now.

But I also appreciate my body more than I ever have.

So 47 isn’t about fighting aging.

It’s about training for it.
Taking care of myself now so I can keep doing the things I love later.

And really… that’s a big part of why I created MOVE. šŸ¤

Here’s to another year of getting stronger, moving because it feels good, and hopefully not taking any of it too seriously.

Sometimes my movement has to fit in between everything else.

Baseball games. Driving. Sitting. Waiting. Cheering from the sidelines.

So if I find 30 minutes to run, I take it.

Not because I’m trying to squeeze in the perfect workout, but because that little bit of time feels good and gives me something that’s mine.

Movement doesn’t have to be all or nothing. It just has to fit into your life. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

What’s your favorite way to move while traveling?

You don’t need a 10 day vacation. Sometimes you just need 2 hours to breathe, reset, and come back to yourself. ✨

The Shift is a cozy, zero pressure evening created for women who are carrying a lot - the schedules, the mental tabs, the work, the family, the everything in between.

✨ We’ll move, breathe, meditate, and have relaxed conversations around stress, rest and balance. (Mats and props provided)

✨Enjoy refreshing, healthy mocktails and nourishing protein snacks provided on us.

✨You’ll leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and with one simple shift you can take back into real life.

Come on your own or bring a friend. Space is limited.
Early bird pricing $49. End August 26, 2026

A little reminder:

Keep moving. Keep growing. Keep choosing you. šŸ¤

Friendly reminder to support your friends before strangers. And remember...your support costs you nothing & could help change their lives 🫶

I think this is the season where a lot of us are realizing we don’t have to wait until everyone else is taken care of to make a little room for ourselves.

Sometimes that looks like getting back into a workout routine. Sometimes it’s a walk, dinner with friends, or finally saying yes to something you’ve been wanting to do.

And sometimes it’s giving yourself 24 hours away from the usual.

That’s really the heart behind our women’s retreat in September, delicious healthy food cooked for you, movement, time outside, a massage, lots of space to slow down, and no pressure to be anything for anyone.

If you’ve been craving that kind of time, I get it. šŸ¤

Limited space. September 19–20 in Willits.

I get asked all the time, ā€œWhat’s the best workout?ā€

The truth is, there isn’t one answer.

The best workout isn’t the one that’s trending or the one that burns the most calories. It’s the one you’ll actually look forward to doing and keep coming back to.

For me, it’s a mix of strength training, yoga, running, hiking… and every now and then, an afternoon paddleboarding.

Movement doesn’t have to fit into one box. It can look different from season to season, and that’s okay.

As summer winds down, I’m reminded that some of the best moments happen when we’re simply outside, moving our bodies, and enjoying the people we’re with.

What kind of movement makes you feel most like yourself? I’d love to hear in the comments. ā¬‡ļø

Turns out my yoga studio had a pretty amazing view this morning. šŸŽˆA retired world champion racing hot air balloon. šŸ’™šŸ§˜šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ§˜ā€ā™‚ļø

Teaching yoga inside a hot air balloon at the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Festival was definitely a first and one I’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone who climbed in, stretched, moved, and started the day with us.

If you missed it, you can still catch me every Wednesday morning for yoga at MOVE Sonoma County. We’d love to have you on the mat. šŸ’›

There’s also 2 more mornings of yoga at

The truth about strength training šŸ’ŖšŸ½

For women, estrogen naturally declines during perimenopause and beyond, it becomes harder to build and keep muscle. That’s exactly why strength training becomes more important, not less.

We’re not lifting to get bigger.

We’re lifting to protect our bones, support our metabolism, maintain muscle, and stay strong enough to do the things we love for years to come.

If you’ve been avoiding the weight rack because you’re worried about getting bulky, I hope this gives you permission to rethink it.

Strong looks different on every woman. And I think that’s something worth celebrating.

MOVE Sonoma County is here to help you build strength for life—not just for today. šŸ’›
