Today we had the pleasure of welcoming a wonderful group of SRJC Shone Farm supporters for a special tour and lunch.

Guests had the opportunity to see firsthand how Shone Farm provides students with hands-on learning experiences in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and workforce development. From the vineyards and gardens to the farm's innovative programs, every stop showcased the incredible impact this unique educational resource has on our students and community.

A heartfelt thank you to Terry Lindley for co-hosting, and to the faculty, staff, and students who shared their passion and expertise today. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and continues to invest in opportunities that help SRJC students learn, grow, and thrive.

The SRJC Foundation is excited to share a behind-the-scenes look as we begin filming a special tribute celebrating this year's SRJC President's Medallion recipients - the Welfare League, their remarkable history, and decades of generosity. Featuring members of the Welfare League and the stories behind their lasting impact on SRJC students, this video will premiere during the President's Address to the Community on September 30.

Today, SRJC Foundation had the pleasure of joining residents at Varenna at Fountaingrove for an inspiring presentation by SRJC student researcher Crimson Figueroa (now headed to UC Davis) and faculty mentor Caprice Disbrow from SRJC Biology Department.

Crimson shared her research comparing bee species found at Santa Rosa Junior College and Pepperwood Preserve, highlighting the important role pollinators play in our local ecosystems. Through beautiful photography, her own artwork, and scientific analysis, she demonstrated the impact of hands-on undergraduate research experiences at SRJC. Caprice spoke about the value of experiential learning and the opportunities students have to engage in research that prepares them for future academic and career success.

We are grateful to the Varenna community for their warm welcome and interest in supporting student success. Special thanks to Crimson and Caprice for representing SRJC so thoughtfully and showcasing the transformative power of education, mentorship, and research. Also a huge thank you to SRJC Lifelong Learning for coming with us to help Varenna residents sign up for classes.

Welcome Noah Morris as the Foundation’s new Coordinator, Philanthropy!

Noah is a higher education and workforce development professional with more than a decade of experience in student success, community partnerships, grant development, and program leadership. Throughout his career at SRJC, he has served in roles focused on supporting student achievement and strengthening connections between education and employment. Most recently, he served as an Employment Services Advisor with the College to Career Program and continues to serve as Associate Faculty in Disability Resources, where he supports students in achieving their educational, career, and personal goals.

Noah has extensive experience securing and managing grant-funded initiatives, developing strategic partnerships, and leading collaborative efforts that advance student success. He is passionate about connecting people, resources, and opportunities to create lasting impact for students and the broader community.

Prior to joining SRJC, Noah taught in Japan through the JET Program and participated in international educational programming aboard Peace Boat. These experiences fostered his commitment to lifelong learning, cross-cultural understanding, and service to others. He holds a Master of Arts in Organization Development from Sonoma State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Outside of work, Noah enjoys trail running, taking on personal challenges, and exploring Northern California with his wife and three children. He is continually inspired by opportunities for growth, adventure, and connection, both in his personal life and professional work.

Noah is excited to join the SRJC Foundation and continue supporting the mission of SRJC through philanthropy, partnership, and student success. His focus will be on supporting annual giving, alumni engagement, communications, event sponsorships, and donor stewardship efforts, creating fundraising campaigns and engagement opportunities to grow support for SRJC students and programs. Noah will also provide support for the Foundation Board and Board Emeritus, manage our scholarship program, and develop communications that strengthen relationships with donors, alumni, corporate partners, and the broader community.

We are proud to celebrate Betsy Fischer and the incredible impact she has had on generations of SRJC Culinary Arts students.

This wonderful feature highlights Betsy’s passion for teaching, mentorship, and creating meaningful hands-on learning experiences for students pursuing careers in the culinary industry. Her dedication reflects the heart of Santa Rosa Junior College; transforming lives through education, creativity, and community.

Congratulations to Santa Rosa Junior College’s Architecture Studio Club for winning the Best Construction Award at Cal Poly’s annual Design Village competition in San Luis Obispo! This exciting achievement highlights the momentum of SRJC’s revitalized architecture program, which relaunched studios in Fall 2025 and will fully restore the degree program in Fall 2026. Thank you to our donors for their support that made this relaunch possible!
