Pumps, and filters, can’t do their job when skimmers/ filter baskets are overwhelmed. The longer this stuff is in your system, the higher your phosates go. High phosphates lead to spring algae blooms! It’s better to prevent it than try to recover from it, right?

Ouch! This can happen very quickly when falling leaves go unaddressed for even a short period. In this case an overhanging tree dropped all its leaves. One week ago the pool was crystal clear. The Good News? This isn’t algae yet! However if left unattended, it will quickly add to phosphate levels, setting up the conditions for algae to prosper. Fall is here!
