"In anthropology, a ‘worldview’ is often defined as a people’s way of understanding and interpreting the world around them. It encompasses their beliefs, values, attitudes and behaviours. Worldviews provide a framework for understanding reality and guide individuals’ and communities’ decision-making processes. The traditional African worldview has often presented obstacles to the internalisation of the gospel and practices among many African Christians. This means we need a discerning application of the discipleship mandate, “to make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28)."
