Twenty volunteers—including a large group from local Interstate Battery store—made last Saturday’s Rural Cemetery Third Saturday cleanup super-successful! Not only did gravel get spread in preparation for next month’s Lamplight and approaching winter, but this featured plot in the Stanley section got a major facelift! We ❤️ our Third Saturday volunteers!

Reminder: No Saturday Work Party in September but we'll be back on schedule in October. Hoping to see you then!

~THIS SATURDAY August 8th - Dead Ringers-In Name Only Tour~
Most of our tours highlight Santa Rosa’s movers and shakers,
the famous or even the infamous. But what about all the average people who rest here—the “regular people” who worked hard, lived honest lives and died without making a big splash? With Dead Ringers, we bring you a look at some of the folks who make up the backbone of the community—as well as the well-known people for whom they are named... (See the full article in the Comments, including what 'Dead Ringers' really meant!)

Tours run from 10:00–11:00 a.m., departing every 20 minutes from Franklin Gate (Franklin Ave. & Monroe St.).
Admission is FREE; donations appreciated. Note: uneven surfaces and slopes.

We had a small but mighty crew for July’s Volunteer Saturday event! Many thanks to our regulars, our first-timers and the Mayor—who spent quality time with one of the largest monuments in the Rural Cemetery, that of Mayors (yes, two) Overton. Tombstone cleaning in the Rural Cemetery—“Where History Comes to Life”—sure makes for a fun morning! See you August 15 for our next Volunteer cleanup!
