Virtual Leadership Corps Training with the Climate Reality Project is October 17-23, 2024 and you're invited to partake!

Many of you know, I had the honor of training in-person with former vice president Al Gore in 2022 during the Las Vegas Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training. It was the thrill of a lifetime. I also participate in virtual Climate Leadership Training annually, which I started in April 2023 and will continue in October 2024. Training virtually each year helps keep me current and connected with the Climate Reality parent organization in D.C., as well as with our local Climate Reality - Bay Area chapter. Those interested in registering will become better informed on the current state of our planet, learn how to live more sustainably, and discover ways of helping to educate others. Registration is completely FREE and most training is done on your own time, via on-demand virtual training sessions. One live-virtual workshop with Mr. Gore lasts 60 minutes. I invite you to read the following five-part column, detailing my path toward climate advocacy to the present. This piece has been revised, since its original publication in April, in preparation for being presented to California state officials.

On Friday, May 17, 2024, a Creative Climate Project proposal was submitted for review to the California Arts Council (CAC) and members of the Creative Economic Workgroup, a committee established by the CAC. The timely importance of the proposal was to ensure sustainability and climate change issues are addressed within the CAC’s 10 year plan and budget currently being developed.

The CAC proposal includes excerpts from the last two sections of my most recent column, “The Backstory….” Those sections are titled “The Climate Emergency. Merging Arts & Culture with Climate Advocacy.,” and “Embracing the Creative Climate Movement.” Please enjoy reading and do consider joining the proposed Creative Climate Advisory Committee.
