LS7 Engine rebuild. These particular engines can be very finicky to rebuild compared to some of the other smaller LS cousin counter parts. Areas of concern include the thin cylinder liners (sleeves) that are prone to cracking even under stock power. The cylinder heads drop valves due to excessive valve guide wear and poor valve rocker and geometry. And of course the thin titanium coating wears off on the cheeks of the connecting rods causing rod, bearing and crankshaft failures. Although these engines have risks they are highly sought after as max effort naturally aspirated power plants for corvettes.
