Entering Death Valley

In May of 2023 I took a last minute road trip to a place
I personally never thought about going to before and I fell in love. Luckily it wasn?t as hot as it can get there because my cars AC decided to die while we were there.

The Living Desert Palm Springs

What a delightful location for amazing animal shots. The backdrop makes you think you are in their natural habitat. You can get very close to the animals even feed the giraffes but do look out for that big, long blue grey tongue.

Mendocino Headlands State Park

Some serious flight planning happening here at the Mendocino coast, a most spectacular stretch of coastline and a resident pelican population. Fun to hang out among the rocks watching them come and go.

Dairy cows in the Swiss Alps

My wife's sister and family live in Switzerland and have visited them a number of times, including September 2019. We took an overnight trip up into the Alps and took a hike while we were there. I happened upon a group of cows that were in an open area. As I got my camera out, the cow nearest me turned away to sneeze. I waited patiently and the cow turned back to look at me and I got the picture. I have thought that the picture looks similar to a picture used on the miniature chocolate bars that vacationers bring home from Switzerland.

My living room in Santa Rosa, California

This is a photo of my kitty Misty. One afternoon Misty was sitting next to me on my couch. The sun was streaming in through my window. I had my iPhone next to me. I loved the way Misty was looking at me with the sun washing over her.
I took her picture with my iPhone. I used the Camera + app on my iPhone. I later edited the photo with the Lr app. Using this app I mainly enhanced the details. I loved the way the photo looked. I especially liked the way the shadows of the sun reflected on Misty?s back.
