💧 When was the last time your dental unit waterlines were tested?
Waterline maintenance isn’t just about treating the lines—it’s about treating, testing, verifying, and documenting that your protocol is actually working.
A simple system for your office can include: • Follow your unit and treatment-product IFUs
• Test routinely and record the results
• Keep water at ≤500 CFU/mL
• Consider annual laboratory testing for additional verification
• Document treatments, test results, corrective actions, and dates
The biggest takeaway? Don’t assume your waterlines are good because you’re treating them. Verify it.
Save this carousel for your next infection-control meeting, and send it to the person responsible for waterline maintenance in your office. 🦷💧

Gloves are an important part of PPE—but they do not replace hand hygiene. 🧤🫧
Hands should be cleaned before putting gloves on and immediately after removing them. Gloves can have tiny defects, and hands can also become contaminated during glove removal.
It’s a simple step that protects both your team and your patients.
Small habit. Big protection. Every patient. Every time. 🌿

I’m looking for 3 dental offices. 👀🦷
I’m expanding the office assessment side of Elevated Dental Education, and I’d like to work with 3 local practices at no cost.
I’ll spend time looking at your back-office systems with a fresh set of experienced eyes — infection control, sterilization, safety processes, clinical workflow and areas your team may have simply stopped noticing.
Afterward, I’ll sit down with you and share what’s working well, what I noticed, and what I would prioritize.
No sales pitch. No judgment. No obligation to hire me afterward.
In exchange, I’m simply asking for honest feedback about the experience and, if you genuinely found it valuable, a testimonial I can share.
After 17 years in dentistry, I know how easy it is for “we’ve always done it this way” to become the standard.
I want to show a few practices what another set of experienced eyes can uncover.
If you'd like your office to be one of the 3, send me a private message or email [email protected] with “ASSESSMENT.”
I’ve seen this happen more times than you’d think…
A dental office has a great team.
Everyone is experienced.
The doctor trusts them.
The office runs smoothly.
Then someone new joins the team and asks:
“Why do you guys do it this way?”
And suddenly everyone realizes…
Nobody actually knows. 😳
“We’ve just always done it this way.”
That sentence is one of the biggest reasons I believe experienced offices still benefit from a fresh set of eyes.
It doesn’t mean your team is bad.
It doesn’t mean anyone is careless.
Dental offices are BUSY.
Processes get passed from one employee to another. Shortcuts slowly become routines. Someone leaves and takes knowledge with them. New employees learn from whoever happens to be training them.
And eventually, “the way we do it” may not be the way it SHOULD be done anymore.
Here’s something you can do this week:
Pick ONE back-office process — sterilization, waterlines, room turnover, sharps, whatever you choose — and ask your team:
“Why do we do it this way?”
Not to test them. Just listen.
You might be surprised by the conversation it starts.
After 17 years in dentistry, I’ve learned that sometimes the most valuable thing you can bring into an office isn’t another product.
It’s another set of eyes. 👀🦷

What’s happening in your office when you’re not watching? 👀🦷
Sometimes a fresh set of experienced eyes can spot things your team has simply stopped noticing.
