Sonoma Water leaders were honored to share our regional water management expertise on a global panel co-hosted by the Global Council for Science and the Environment at Climate Week in New York City.
Sonoma Water Board of Directors Chair Rebecca Hermosillo, Director David Rabbitt, and Valley of the Moon District Director Jon Foreman participated in high-profile session called GCSA Climate solutions Exchange: Stories of Hope Under Deep Uncertainty. The delegation discussed how mid-sized regional agencies handle extreme climate volatility. They shared actionable insights on maintaining critical infrastructure for flood control, drinking water security and more, while facing highly unpredictable weather patterns.
Our Forecast Informed Reservoir Operations initiative was featured as an example of how local governments can implement real change in collaborations with scientists and academic researchers.
