What if your worth and purpose were never meant to be defined by the world?

Welcome to Thrive Church! We are so glad you can join us this weekend as we celebrate Pastor Appreciation Sunday and honor our pastors for their faithful leadership, love, and dedication to our church family!

Pastor Nick continues our series, ID-ology, with Part 2, On Purpose For a Purpose. Through Genesis 1:26–28 and Psalm 100:3, we’ll discover what it means to be created in God’s image and how our identity, worth, and purpose are rooted in Him. We’ll explore how God’s design shapes the way we see ourselves, love others, and live with purpose.

We pray today’s worship and message encourage you, strengthen your faith, and remind you that you were created intentionally, with a worth the world can’t take away and a design the world can’t improve on.

What is shaping the way you see truth, identity, and the world around you?

Welcome to Thrive Church! We are so glad you can join us this weekend as Pastor Nick begins our new series, ID-ology.

We pray today’s worship and message challenge you, strengthen your faith, and encourage you to live boldly for the Kingdom of God. Thank you for joining us this weekend!

Sermon notes:
1 | The Kingdom of God
ID-ology
John 18:36-37

An ideology is a comprehensive way of understanding reality that tells us what is true, what is good, what is wrong with the world, and what must happen to make it right.

Story: Where did we come from and where are we going?
Authority: Who decides what is true?
Heroes: Who embodies the good life?
Villains: Who is responsible for what's wrong?
Language: What words explain reality?
Rituals: What practices reinforce belonging?
Morality: What is righteous and sinful?
Salvation: What will finally make everything right?

Christianity has a story. And at the center of our story is a King and His Kingdom

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. | John 18:36-37

For God has delivered us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son. | Colossians 1:13

Humanist Manifesto: “No deity will save us; we must save ourselves.”

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. | Matthew 28:19

You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. | Matthew 5:13-15

We do not confuse the Kingdom of God with kingdoms of men, but neither do we surrender the kingdoms of men to ideas that oppose the Kingdom of God.

Work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare. | Jeremiah 29:7

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. | Proverbs 29:2

1 Pray

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. | 1 Timothy 2:1-2

1 Participate
Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. | 1 Peter 3:15

1 Build

The God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. | Daniel 2:44

“The time promised by God has come at last!” Jesus announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”. | Mark 1:15 |

For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of w**e after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again. | 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

That feeling you have? It doesn't define you. Culture says you are what you feel, but Jesus says otherwise. He can change your affections, your desires, your heart—if you let Him. You're made in the image of God, and you're not a slave to your emotions. Check out the rest of this sermon on our YouTube!

What does it really mean to have a heart of wisdom?

Welcome to Thrive Church! This week, we continue our Wisdom series as we discover that true biblical wisdom is about more than what we know. It’s about the desires of our heart and allowing God’s wisdom to shape the way we live.

Through Proverbs 2:10 and Proverbs 16:21, we’ll look at how wisdom enters the heart and how a wise heart can influence our choices, relationships, and everyday lives.

We pray today’s worship and message encourage you, strengthen your faith, and help you grow in wisdom as you follow Jesus.

Thank you for joining us this weekend!

Even Jesus grew in wisdom. Not because He sinned or acted foolishly, but because He embraced a posture of humility and curiosity. Jesus asked questions, sought understanding, and remained open to learning. If the Son of God modeled this kind of teachability, what does that say about our own journey toward wisdom?
