Free the Artist, an initiative of Unconditional Freedom, is building an online platform so creative voices inside are seen, honored, and supported. Right now, a generous donor is matching every gift up to $5,000, doubling the impact of your support. Our vision is that art can restore dignity and that freedom is unconditional. We invite you to help us bring this vision to life. 🖤

This gallery holds work created in places most people never see—drawings made in solitary confinement, art sketched on notebook paper, sculptures formed on death row, and intimate pieces that carry the stories of real lives. One artist wrote to us that making art through this program “helped save my life and my soul.” That spirit lives in every piece. Donate today to be part of restoring dignity to those who are typically invisible.

Come join us for the closing exhibit of Free the Artist: An exhibit of incarcerated artists

Thursday Jan 29th at 6pm in Harlem!

Highlighting the resilience and creativity within prisons. The Free The Artist project brings artwork created by incarcerated individuals to share with the world. Each piece is a window into an inner world — a vision of strength, resilience, and creative expression from within confinement.

It has been an incredible month featuring artists who, with basically no access to materials, have created profoundly impactful art. And a centerpiece of the exhibit is a hand-built wooden “prison cell,” the same size as one of our participants cells that he lived in and created art from.

Link in bio or DM us to reserve your spot. You won’t want to miss this powerful night!
