Live Beyond the Map

Storm watchers- not chasers! Quite the opposite. We actually changed our plan this week to avoid some inclement weather conditions. Looks like we were not entirely successful! 🌩️⛈️🌩️ can’t deny it’s exciting and awesome to behold when it hits. Very grateful for a quickly passing storm that did not deposit any hail on us!

Day two reflections- I was being a pill yesterday. I was disappointed and had a cruddy attitude and lamented not having a “ better” camp spot…

RV living is full of the unexpected. Reviews are not always accurate, campsite maps are not always to scale, sometimes the lakes are brown and murky not clear like they look in pics online. Accepting what is rather than what we thought is a path that has never steered us wrong. Even when it’s hard , even when it takes a minute to get to that place, that mindset of “ what’s for me won’t miss me” when it hits- it’s a feeling of peace that is worth waiting for. I’m free to enjoy the rest of our stay here just as it is- a beautiful meadow with flowers, a safe secure place for our doggies to rest and a lovely view of the lake just outside our door because no one has parked in it yet. 🙏🏻

Happy Wednesday! We have a travel day according to the dogs- since they are not the decision makers ( well, maybe they are 🤔) we are just having a quick bandage change and we’ll be on our way. I don’t believe in jinxing ourselves but it just seems a little too convenient that we’re back after a week 😂 - very happy to report her pain level is very low these days and we’re just trying to handle a restless puppy.

Miss Gladdy pants is healing up well. 1 full week since we had to take her to the vet hospital to have her hobble bandage replaced. Her pain is under control and hopefully we can wean her off meds this week. She’s feeling restless and likes to tell us about it but it’s such a relief to have her feeling this good 😊

🔔Another post surgery update
Gladys is feeling better- she’s wearing her surgical pajamas- this is so we can drastically reduce the amount of time she has to wear a cone. She’s
understandably annoyed with the entire cone ordeal. These pj’s cover her wound so she won’t lick at it.
She’s doing well and still ruling the roost from her bougie bed.

A few days post op. She’s recovering well- poopocalyse has slowed and we’re just trying to get some rest.
What a great place to be recovering from a major surgery. Lots of good sniffs and bird sounds all around to distract from her owie hip.

From sipping coffee to wild hogs, destroyed cars, ramp door opening while traveling to a gorgeous sunset and a family BBQ dinner at a favorite spot. Kind of low key Saturday 😂
Very grateful we made it safely to our destination, no telling what our multiple unplanned stops prevented us from encountering.
