Amy, Goose and I have recently become acquainted with Cowboy Ranch Rescue, a non-profit that rescues horses off of the kill lot that are designated to be sold and processed as dog food. These horses are abandoned, abused, neglected and tortured.
Last week we had the opportunity to participate and rescued this beautiful lady. We paid the equivalent of what she would have earned to become dog food. It’s called a kill fee. By paying the kill fee she was released to us. She arrived yesterday and was barely alive. After 24 hours of food, pain meds, antibiotics and a whole lotta love she was feeling better tonight when we went to meet her. Goose named her S’mores.
S’mores and the other horses that are rescued by Cowboy Ranch are so fortunate to be rescued. If you want to help, you can donate to Cowboy Ranch.
The money goes to the care and feeding of the current rescues and also toward fees for future rescues.

Nearly 12 years ago Amy and I went out for tea; my life was and is forever changed. She and Goose became my miracles. My purpose.
We were married by the justice of the peace in 2018, but always wanted to have a ceremony. We had talked about renewing our vows a couple times in recent years, but never got around to it.
This summer while vacationing in the most amazing house, Amy’s cousins and I planned a surprise ceremony. And here we are, renewing our vows on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
I am a blessed man.
