Lately, I’ve been adding a couple of black and white images to almost every gallery I deliver.

There’s just something about stripping away the color that makes you notice the little things—the connection, the emotion, the way someone looks at the person they love, the tiny moments that might otherwise get overlooked.

And I know… life isn’t always black and white.

It’s messy. It’s colorful. It’s complicated. It’s beautiful. It’s everything in between.

But sometimes, taking away all the color lets you see the story a little differently. 🤍🖤

Some families just make your heart happy. 🤍✨

This sweet family is extra special to me because Kim Morris Whiting was one of the very first people I met when I moved here to 30A. She splits her time between 30A and Texas, and every time our paths cross, I’m so grateful we get to make a little more magic together. 🥹

We started our session at a beautiful local park and then headed to the beach—and they were picture perfect the entire time. The kind of family that makes photographing them feel less like work and more like spending time with old friends. ❤️

From the woods to the sand, these are the memories I love capturing. Because your vacation photos aren’t just about what everyone looked like this year… they’re about who you were together.

These girls understood the assignment. 🤍✨

They were best friends back in Navarre and Gulf Breeze, but life took one of them all the way to TEXAS. So what did they do when it was time for senior portraits?

They drove to 30A at 5 AM. 😳🌅

Because some friendships are worth waking up way too early for—and these two prove it. 🥹

Sunrise. Best friends. Senior year. Barefoot on the beach. And memories they’ll have forever.

And THIS is exactly why I love senior portraits at sunrise. The soft light, the empty beach, the dreamy colors… and the chance to create something that feels completely them.

These girls brought the fun, the friendship, and the energy—and I just got to capture it. 💕

17 YEARS LATER… ❤️🌊

Some family sessions are about pretty pictures.

And then there are the ones that are about history.

This beautiful family came to 30A for their portraits, and we recreated some of their family photos from 17 years ago. 🥹

Seventeen years.

And in that time, these kids grew up, life changed, and this family kept choosing each other. ❤️

Oh—and Mom and Dad?

They’ve been married for 38 YEARS. 🥹

THIRTY-EIGHT.

So yes, we took the beautiful 30A beach photos. Yes, we played in the water. Yes, we captured the whole family exactly as they are today.

But my favorite part?

We got to freeze a little piece of “then” and “now” in the same gallery.

And honestly… THIS is why I love family photography.

Because one day, you’re looking at a photo from 17 years ago thinking, “Look how little they were.”

And then suddenly, you’re standing on a beach on 30A realizing you’re living the “before” photo all over again.

And yes… I usually say sunrise is my favorite. 😉
But sometimes a sunset session comes along that reminds me there are no rules when the story is this good. 🌅

38 years of marriage.
17 years between these photos.
One beautiful family.
And memories they get to keep forever.

The best souvenir money can buy on the Emerald Coast isn’t something you take home in a suitcase.

It’s the people you love… exactly as they are right now. ❤️

Sunrise + the sweetest family = MAGIC. 🌅🤍

Can we talk about this color palette?! 😍 I absolutely LOVE that they didn’t stick to just solid colors. The soft pinks, florals, greens, blues, and creams all work together so beautifully without looking overly “matchy-matchy.”

And then there’s that sunrise light. ✨

This is exactly why sunrise sessions are so special. The soft glow, the pastel sky, the calm water, the beautiful colors… it creates a look that just feels effortless and timeless.

And this family? PRESH. 🥹🤍
So much love, personality, and connection in one session.

We had a little rain… okay, maybe more than a little 😂… but honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

The soft, overcast sky, the dreamy emerald water, the movement of the waves, and Lakin out there in the water made these portraits absolutely magical. ✨

And the best part? We didn’t just capture her senior portraits—we captured her whole family, too. Because senior year is about more than just the cap and gown. It’s about the people who have been there for every step along the way. ❤️

Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate.
