Waiting for that magical moment when Old Faithful comes to life! 🌋💨
On an Appleseed Expeditions journey, students don’t just learn about geology—they experience it firsthand. From watching the power beneath Yellowstone’s surface to exploring one of America’s most extraordinary ecosystems, every moment becomes an opportunity to learn, discover, and connect with the natural world.
Science comes alive. Adventure inspires. Conservation comes first. 🌎
Exploring the breathtaking Garden of the Gods on horseback during our Appleseed Expeditions Colorado adventure! 🐎🏔️
There’s no better way to bring science and history to life than experiencing it firsthand. As students ride among these towering red-rock formations, they explore the geology, archaeology, and natural history that have shaped this incredible Colorado landscape.
At Appleseed Expeditions, the outdoors becomes the classroom—and every trail leads to a new discovery.
Science. Archaeology. Adventure. Experience Colorado with Appleseed Expeditions.
🏔️ Where Geology Comes to Life!
Learning about the incredible Royal Gorge and the geology of Colorado on an Appleseed Expeditions Pikes Peak adventure!
Standing above the Arkansas River and looking into the massive Royal Gorge gives students a front-row seat to Colorado’s geologic story. From ancient rock formations and powerful erosion to the forces that shaped the Rocky Mountains, students get to experience science far beyond the classroom.
At Appleseed Expeditions, we believe the best way to learn about our planet is to get out and explore it. 🌎🥾
Science. Adventure. Discovery.
☀️ This is what summer looks like with Appleseed Expeditions! 🦈🌊
Imagine learning about one of the largest fish on Earth—and then putting on your mask and fins and getting into the water alongside one.
On our Appleseed Expeditions programs, students don’t just read about whale sharks in a textbook. They learn about the incredible biology of these gentle giants—how they filter-feed on plankton, why they migrate across vast stretches of ocean, and how scientists study and protect their populations.
And then comes the experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives: swimming alongside a whale shark in its natural environment.
When we say we take students swimming with sharks, we mean GIANT sharks! 🦈
This is what experiential education is all about: taking science out of the classroom and into the real world, where students can see, experience, and understand the animals and ecosystems they’re studying.
🌎 Science. Adventure. Conservation. Unforgettable experiences.
Join Appleseed Expeditions and experience what learning can look like when the ocean becomes your classroom.
🦈 Hands-On Shark Science in the Florida Keys! 🌊🔬
What better way to learn about sharks than to study them up close?
On select Appleseed Expeditions Florida Keys programs, students have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on shark dissection using preserved, previously frozen juvenile bull sharks. Students explore shark anatomy while learning how these incredible predators are uniquely adapted for life in the ocean.
From examining internal organs and body systems to discussing shark biology, ecology, and their important role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems, this is science that goes far beyond the classroom.
Experiences like this turn biology into something students can see, touch, explore, and remember.

Still waiting on our teacher… 😄 Apparently the desert wasn’t going anywhere, but our dune buggy adventure had to wait until everyone was accounted for!
The students are ready, the dune buggies are ready, and the sand is definitely ready. Now we’re just waiting for our fearless leader to arrive so we can hit the trails in Page, Arizona! 🌵🏜️
The best adventures are always worth the wait… at least that’s what we keep telling the students! 😂
Learning wildlife ecology where the classroom is the rainforest! 🌿🦋
Our Appleseed Expeditions students explored the incredible ecosystem surrounding the breathtaking La Fortuna Waterfall in Costa Rica. From tropical plants and insects to birds and the complex relationships that connect every living thing, students experienced firsthand how nature works together in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.
There’s no better way to learn science than by stepping into the environment itself!

It’s Shark Week again! 🦈
Did you know that bull sharks have some of the highest testosterone levels measured among vertebrates? Scientists think this may contribute to their bold, highly aggressive behavior, although it’s likely just one piece of the puzzle.
Bull sharks are opportunistic predators and scavengers. They’ll investigate almost anything that looks like an easy meal, allowing them to thrive in rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters around the world.
Nature is full of fascinating adaptations, and understanding them helps us better appreciate these incredible animals rather than simply fear them.
On an Appleseed Expeditions adventure, students don’t just learn about sharks—they discover how every species plays an important role in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems.
