Rooted in Justice: Cultivating Belonging and Equity for Service Providers is coming up October 15 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. MT as part of Envive Solutions' Comprehensive Community Support Services Training Series. Led by Aye Sundram, LCSW, and Niles Hewlett, LPCC, the virtual workshop will explore what belonging and equity can mean in behavioral health practice and offer frameworks that providers can bring back to their work. The training is FREE and offers 2 CEUs, including Cultural Competency CEUs through eligible credentialing boards. October brings another month of connection at peer and recovery centers across New Mexico. Our partner centers continue to offer drop-in hours and community gatherings where people can spend time with others who understand recovery. The New Mexico SBIRT Training Series has posted their October trainings. Sessions will be held on October 2, 8, 9, and 15, giving providers and support staff a chance to take part in this statewide training. SBIRT gives teams a practical way to recognize substance use or behavioral health concerns early and begin a supportive conversation before those concerns become more serious. Serenity Mesa Recovery Center is hiring a CPSW Youth Services Navigator in Albuquerque. Serenity Mesa is an adolescent transitional living and recovery program that supports young people after treatment or detox as they continue building stability in recovery. The Youth Services Navigator works directly with residents to build trust and help them stay focused on the goals they have set for themselves while coordinating with the clinical team around each young person’s care. Magellan Health is hiring a Certified Peer Support Worker in Santa Fe or the surrounding area. This work-from-home position includes extensive travel within the community, where the CPSW will help members stay connected to recovery and work through barriers that may be hindering their goals. The role also includes helping people develop Wellness Recovery Action Plans and navigate transitions after higher levels of care. Applicants must hold the peer certification required by New Mexico and be able to obtain the National Peer Support Credential within one year of hire.
