The mother of pride. The woman who took in those who needed love and support. The founder of so many pride organizations as we know them. Happy pride all!

Hey therapists & social workers (old hats, recent grads, incoming students), I have a question for you. How much money did you need to make while in your last year of school to not only pay the bills, but to be able to breathe?
I am looking to expand my practice and have a number in mind, but want to hear from you all!

It's hard times out here. Build a new story about who you are and your worth. If you want a world where people get to live and celebrate and take up space, it starts with you taking up space.

Doing some edits for week number 2. Feels unreal how fast time is going. I keep reminding myself, 20 classes. That's all that stands between me and being Dr. Allison. One day, one week, one course at a time.

In light of the talkspace news, I want to share that my practice is AI free. I do not enable it on my EHR, I do not use it to write notes, I do not "just chat" with AI. I am taking extra steps of working with various professionals to ensure everything is locked up tight. My practice is patient safety first, confidential, and protective documenting. First. Always.
Let this rage move you towards finishing your meal plan today. 🔥🔥🔥

I am aware I am part of the system. I want to be part of the solution. I want to be part of the change. I want to do repair work as part of our professional community and the harm we have caused.

New month, new inspiration.
May this May bring you all the flowers. May you find glimmers on your journey. May you remember why you are doing the work you are doing. May you hold on to the ember of hope. 💕

🙏 please. If you are not actively unlearning ableism, fatphobia, racism do not recommend or tell someone how they should be eating or moving their bodies. I promise, they already know what they "should" be doing. Weight stigma is a bigger detriment to someone's health than their size and their worth isn't determined by their health status.
