We have learned many things since May 18, 2018. One being that the district is being silenced by lawyers not to speak on the shooting. It is still an on going investigation and are not allowed to speak on it. We have also learned that our district has been lacks on policies over the years and its time for a change, no matter what it takes. As parents we have a right to demand change. We have learned that the school board can be asked to remove Dr. Wall and that the only 3 jobs they have are policies, the budget and hiring and firing of the superintendent. We ALL have the same common goal, the safety of our children. What we are NOT stopping to think about or consider is that a lot of these kids are ready for life to move on. They want us to stop fighting with each other over this. They have given up being heard because they are still NOT being heard. We have also learned that the biggest issue we have is with the state, they rule over everything in our district. We have learned so many things that need change and together we can make that change happen. Someone is bound to listen to us at some point and look into what we ask for. Yes life was much simpler before the 18th of May but this what we have to deal with now because of lacks of enforcement of policies already in place. We as parents need to get back in tune with our kids, be aware of what's going on with them. It is our jobs as parents to raise our kids properly. The schools only teach them how to pass at test and some kidd can't do that. So we get a low district grade. Is that fair. HELL NO it's not fair. That's where we come in as a community to fight the state once again over something stupid.
As much as it pains us as parents, we have to remember that things regarding laws and policies take time to change. Which in turn means... Change takes time.
Legislation mandates that DAs, courts and law enforcement follow a certain protocol. As much as it sucks our fight is NOT with the DA at this time, its legislators that need to be listening to us and taking note that we want changes made to protect our children.
Just got off the phone with Kevin Petroff the 1st asst. DA in Jack Roady's office. He is more than happy to explain to anyone how and why they made the decision they made regarding the threats made by students at SF High School. His direct number is 4097705183, he wants you to call so that they can help explain things. Please call him, he is encouraging the phone calls.
In a nut shell legislation has the DAs hands tied on somethings and that makes pursuit of charges hard in some cases. This being one of those cases.
