Yesterday, Santa Ana Area proudly teamed up with Capistrano Area for Leg 22 of the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run, honoring the 40th anniversary of this incredible tradition supporting Special Olympics athletes across California.

With every mile, we run for inclusion, determination, and the unstoppable spirit of these amazing athletes. Thank you to everyone who came out to support and cheer us on as we carried the flame through our community.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has designated May 18 - May 31, 2026, as the national "Click It or Ticket" campaign. CHP officers will be out in full force enforcing seat belt and child safety seat violations.

Ensure everyone in your vehicle is properly buckled-seat belts and car seats save lives. Every trip. Every time.

In an effort to reduce the number of motorcycle crashes, CHP – Santa Ana Area will deploy additional officers May, 23, 2026 in the city of Santa Ana.

Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day—a time to honor the courageous officers who gave everything for the safety of their communities. We remember those we've lost and extend our deepest thanks to all who serve and protect, day in and day out. Your sacrifice and dedication will never be forgotten.

National Police Week

This week we are honoring the heroes behind the badge for National Police Week. This is a time to honor the dedication, service, and ultimate sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the nation.

At CHP Santa Ana, we proudly stand with our brothers and sisters in uniform and remember those who laid down their lives in the line of duty. We invite our community to take a moment to reflect, pray, and give thanks for the brave men and women who protect and serve every day.

MADD AWARD CEREMONY 🏆

Today, they were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for their exceptional dedication to preventing impaired driving. 🚓

This is the hard work and commitment that keeps our community safe and makes a tremendous impact. Well done, officers!

Wildfires are fast, unpredictable, and increasingly destructive, but preparation can save lives. The steps you take today can make all the difference tomorrow.

1. Make sure your vehicle is ready to go.
2. Keep your gas tank at least half full.
3. Pack a go-bag with essentials like medications, documents, and supplies for your family and pets.
4. Know your evacuation zones and plan multiple routes.

And most importantly, if first responders tell you to evacuate, go. These decisions are made to protect you.

We know how difficult it is to leave your home, but you are not alone. The CHP stands ready to protect our communities and safeguard evacuated areas, working alongside our partners at CAL FIRE to keep California safe.

We invite the public to contact our office to schedule a child car seat appointment. Our certified technicians will:
