A couple years ago I got to meet at a signing in SLC for this book which my daughter adores. Hearing her little voice read the title makes me so happy.

She also said she wants the cat house in the illustration for Christmas, not for our cat Ellie, but so she can sleep in it.

Ten years ago I adapted this book into a stage play for my capstone at . It was my first real foray into making TYA, and was an experience that has had an outsized impact on my life. I will always love this story and the things that came out of it.
