Happy 8th Night of Hanukkah! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday filled with light 🕎 and love 💗.

Just wanted to share that my beautiful mom passed away last week on June 6th.

Mom called me "Dolly" from the time I was born. I can still hear her voice telling me, "Dolly, I LOVE your curls. People pay big money to get those!" which was her way of saying she didn't like when I blow-dried my hair straight, LOL.

After my daughter Hallie was born, Mom called her "Little Dolly". I'm going to miss hearing that.

We are all trying to find our way through the grieving process. These last few months, all of my time was devoted to managing her care, driving her and my dad to Dr. appointments, and trying to ease her daily emotional distress as she struggled with worsening dementia and so many other health issues.

Thankfully, my brother flew out from Maryland the day before she passed, and we were there to hold her hand until she took her last breath just before midnight. My dad is absolutely heartbroken. They were married for over 60 years. As hard as it is to let go, I am relieved she is no longer suffering, but there is a gaping hole in my heart. I know those of you who have lost a parent understand.

At some point I'll blog more about the details and the tiny miracles that followed. For now, please know how much I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to reach out over the last week. Reading your kind sweet words brings me so much comfort.

❤️ I always encourage including pets in your portrait sessions. They are part of the family after all! (Just be prepared for me to make a total fool of myself to get the shot!).

🔎I never quite know where we’ll end up when I do portraits in SF. It’s all part of the fun. And when you come across a find like this gorgeous garden, you just have to stop and explore!

Last weekend, twins Haley & Brandon finally had the B’nai Mitzvah of their dreams after postponing for a year!!!

👖LOVED that all the guests got custom sweatpants complete with the “HB” logo! You know we had to take a pic! 📷
