We are very sad to hear of the passing of Marjane Satrapi, comic book author, film director, children's book author, artist, and activist. Her wonderful graphic novel The Complete Persepolis, (she also adapted Persepolis for film) is our book of the day.

We are celebrating Pride all the month of June with a rotating window display of LGBTQ writers books, and a contest which starts today! Fill out the map of participating businesses for our 3rd annual Pride Art Walk Puzzle & Celebration while strolling the West End Village and downtown, to find the clues to the Harvey Milk quote within the art in our windows. It’s a fun way to celebrate Pride Month while getting a little history. Pick up a map from us, and good luck! 🌈

🐛 The Outlaw Bookworms banned book for June is Last Night At The Telegraph Club, by Malinda Lo. The club meets June 16, 6pm for socializing, 6:30 to 8pm for the discussion.

📖 Silent Book Club selection for June is Less, by Andrew Sean Greer. Meet in our salon area with group friends or your own alone down time for reading, and discussion afterwards if you want.

Loads of new fiction in, and with the cool down in the weather, it’s a perfect time for settling in and getting into a good book, like James, by Percival Everett.

New short story books just in, like this fabulous F. Scott Fitzgerald, a perfect read while sipping gin or lemonade.
