Something quietly remarkable happened in November 2024.

Traci, a new friend and chef turned Functional Nutritionist, invited me to a small gathering of practitioners. In walked Heather, a Tarot and Horoscope guide I’d met at a transformative bodywork training. Then Dr. Jen, my professor from Chinese medicine school, an Acupuncturist and Naturopath. More beautiful local strangers kept showing up, and within months, they’ve became some of my dearest friends.

We had no formal mission. No tiered referral plan. No end goal. Just women gathering twice a month to share our entrepreneurial wins and losses. We’ve laughed hard and cried harder together. And something kept becoming more true: when women gather, healing happens.

Yesterday, with the brilliance of Amanda’s web design, we launched what we’ve become.

The Marin Women’s Health Collective is for women navigating the chapters that change everything. A cancer diagnosis. The menopause wall. Becoming a mother. A marriage ending. These transitions don’t have to be walked alone.

We can hold because we’ve been held. Eight practitioners, eight areas of expertise, one shared devotion to women reclaiming their aliveness.

More offerings are coming. And to kick things off, we’re gathering on Thursday May 28th from 6:30–8:30pm in Fairfax. Ceremonial Cacao, yummy snacks (duh), hands-on healing, guidance, tools, resources, and a room full of women who know their craft and are passionate about it.

Come as you are. Bring a friend. RSVP on our site so we know have much Cacao to stir.

what happens when you don’t carry it all? I’ll admit it, I’m one of those freaks that has to carry everything in the house from the car in one trip - no matter the ridiculousness that involves. This is my Cirque du Soleil 🤹 moment.

And, the trapezius or “traps” with its three heads. upper, middle, and lower is happy to help. each one takes on a different kind of load. like a golden retriever, it will carry everything you hand it - it’s not great at no…

…until it hits its limit and picks up the red phone ☎️ for the levator scapula (up your neck). and that is never good.

in a session, we work all three heads before it gets to that point. when the whole muscle gets attention, you feel the difference. less bracing. more length. that exhale you forgot you were holding.

(the levator scapula 👑 is next. she is not a golden retriever.)

Pain makes you contract.

Tension narrows your world down to what feels survivable. A cramp in your neck. A knot you’ve carried so long you forgot it wasn’t always there. Chronic tension doesn’t just live in tissue. It lives in your choices. Your capacity. The way you show up.

When your body finally gets to rest, actually rest, you make different choices. You respond instead of react. You reach for ease instead of bracing for impact.
This is somatic work. Not a treat. Not a luxury. A recalibration.

Come be held, so you can hold.

Meet Roberta.

She lives in my right psoas and she has opinions about everything, a more efficient way to do it, and zero interest in slowing down. I imagine her as Magda from ‘There’s Something About Mary’, but like if Magda drove a NYC cab.

The psoas is Pandora’s box. I rarely go there in a first session. It takes trust. It takes time. Because this is where you shoved the clench of your jaw that said “I’m fine” and kept going.

In Chinese medicine, the right side governs forward motion. The future. And Roberta doesn’t do things in small measure, she goes allllllllll-in.

I know she’s disturbed when my right hip starts to brace, my low back starts to tug, and everything just feels… cranky. That’s not just a tight muscle. That’s a holding pattern with a long memory.

Maybe this is why I stopped drinking seven years ago.

I had to cut her off 🍸

Fully booked through April 🤍

Feeling a lot of gratitude for the return visits, the referrals, and the way this practice continues to grow through people sharing it with each other. Thank you.

I’m pausing new scheduling for a few weeks so I can stay focused with the clients already on my table…
and because the website designer is also the one doing the bodywork, scheduling, and marketing. Ho-hum.

Waitlist is open. Link in bio 🔗

My 2026 word of the year is: HELD

This year has already asked me to slow down in ways I didn’t expect. I had to take time off for family. Things had to shift. Appointments rescheduled. Clients held their spots.

I’ve been quietly reworking how I show up to my work to better hold myself; modifying location frequency to save commute time, getting clearer about boundaries (including a no trade policy that still makes me squirm), and rebuilding my offerings so they actually fit the life I’m living. No hustling or overworking. I can be held in the holding of my work.

I’m also making space for time that isn’t planned, which feels radical and necessary aka , here I come 🦦

The world feels shaky. A lot feels uncertain. What I keep coming back to is this: our bodies are still a place we can come home to.

I hold you. You hold me. We can all be held.
