2025 Bulldog Cup Regatta had more capsizes than finished races but we managed to declare co-winners! Congrats to Luca and Cormac and awarded a few pirates as well!

SR Sailing Students were VIP guests of Sail GP today, and got to see some super high tech and exciting professional sailing. Ms Healy’s countrymen/women took 2 firsts! 🇨🇦

Three of our “heavily used” Laser hulls were retired today. Poppy has been in service since 2002. A huge thank you to Marin Sanitary Service for allowing us to dispose of the hulls for free!

Remembering Bill Monti: My Mentor, Friend, and Father Figure
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my longtime mentor, dear friend, and father figure, Bill Monti, who passed away over Christmas. Writing these words is one of the hardest tasks I have ever faced, as Bill was not just a sailing coach or athletic trainer—he was the guiding force behind many of my greatest personal and professional successes and a constant source of wisdom and encouragement.

We are sad to report the passing of the founder of SRHS Sailing, Bill Monti. Bill (with his student and friend John Bertrand) pitched the idea to the principal at the time in an effort to get kids to learn an amazing life long sport in a world class sailing environment. Bill will forever be remembered for his legacy at SRHS in his 38 years as a PE Teacher, not only in sailing but also his creation of Adventure PE - Night PE Hiking and the construction of the Adventure Room. All of these programs still serve the students of SRHS and are widely considered a one of the school’s many hidden gems. A service to honor Bill will be forthcoming, details TBA.
