As promised, we wanted to share a final update from our Free Lunch for Nepal.

With additional donations received after the event, Himalayan Kitchen raised a final total of $6,658 for Nepal.

On September 22, we officially handed over the full amount to Gombu Sherpa; President of California Sherpa Association during the Nepal fundraising event hosted by the Himalayan Sherpa Club Sonoma and क्यालिफोर्निया शेर्पा एसोसिएसन.

All funds raised will be transferred directly to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund in Nepal. The organizers will share the official receipt once the transfer is completed.

We hope these funds will bring much-needed relief and support to families and communities affected by the floods in Nepal.

Most importantly, thank you to every person who donated, volunteered, shared our message, or supported our fundraiser.

This $6,658 came from all of you. ❤️

What a day. We are still taking it all in.

In just three hours today, around 200 people walked through our doors to stand with Nepal. Some came just to drop off a donation, and others had already stopped by yesterday and the days before to contribute.

Altogether, we collected $4,448 in cash and checks.

And that number does not include the many of you who donated directly through the Nepal Government’s official relief fund website. Thank you for doing that. Every donation matters. 🙏🏻

It was emotional for us to see so many people from our community come together for Nepal.

Back home, so many families are going through an incredibly difficult time. People have lost loved ones, their homes, and things they worked their whole lives for. We may be thousands of miles away, but today reminded us that Nepal is not alone. ❤️🇳🇵

Thank you to everyone who came, donated, shared our post, told friends and family, or simply helped us spread the word.

And a huge thank you to our kitchen and front-of-house team for all the hard work that made today possible.

We are very grateful to be part of this community.
