Theater review: ‘Virginia Woolf’ offers lots of boozy bite at the Belrose 10/16/2015

"...a superb production...Produced by Ken Bacon and directed by Terry McGovern...Marin Actors Workshop production, which lifts the comedy to the laugh-yourself-sick level but honors the dysfunctional marriage of George and Martha as an authentic and enduring love affair. In its uniquely twisted way, 'Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' is a real love story." ~ Barry Willis, Marin Independent Journal / Member SFBATCC

WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? 10/07/2015

"Ken Bacon’s abbreviated production at...Belrose Theatre in San Rafael, ' Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf ' is astutely directed by Terry McGovern from a script adapted by Ernest Lehman...This talented cast more than meets the demands of the script without overdoing it or becoming caricatures. Timing, reaction, and deep understanding of the character one is playing must be spot on, which, thankfully, Mc Govern’s cast delivers."

REVIEW:
" 'Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf' - Producer Ken Bacon and Director Terry McGovern team to bring this classic to San Rafael’s intimate Belrose Theater....an entertaining evening that offers much more comic relief than the story line would suggest. Those unfamiliar with the work will enjoy an honest and provocative rendering, and those who know it already will experience a worthwhile revisit." ~ Victor Cordell, Member SFBATCC

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf “Truth and illusion, George – you don’t know the difference.” “No [Martha], but we must carry on as though we did.” “Amen!” And so it is, that the angst of two couples’ lives derive from self-deception in Edward Albee’s darkly comic masterpiece, “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”. Producer Ken Bacon a…
