🩷An update on Laura’s breast cancer journey…🩷

Thank you to this beautiful community for all your prayers, thoughts, meals, gifts, and support for Laura Briggs these past few months.

Laura had a successful breast surgery at the end of June and was finally recovered enough to be able to come to class for the first time this week. We were thrilled to dance with her again!

Next in Laura’s journey will be 4 weeks of radiation everyday, followed by medications, but everything looks good and she is on her way to conquering her breast cancer completely.

Please keep Laura in your prayers, and for those of you who are also going through a season of darkness and difficulty, know you are not alone in your journey. You’ve got this. 🩷

💜 Happy Birthday Lisa Hudson & Sarah Irving! 💜

Thank you to everyone who came to class on Saturday in-person or on Zoom to celebrate Lisa Hudson and Sarah Irving! Lisa chose the songs for our 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance class and chose the theme, “Wear what brings YOU joy!”

In addition to our regular dancers and Lisa’s besties, Catherine Granville and Shannon Bindler, Ariana Amini, Renee Kessler Miller, and Susie Picken joined our class! Also, even though it was her first class, we were thrilled to find out it was Sarah Irving’s birthday too, and she came with her new friends, Kate Oppenheimer, Ashley Valentine, and Tara McDill! Welcome also to Lisa Long Butcher’s friend, Laurence Kahn, and her friend Doreen visiting from Florida!

Regular dancers or new dancers, we welcome you all and we love that you are part of our joyful community!

❤️ Happy Birthday Kathleen Dowd and thank you for raising $1395 for Communi-T! ❤️

On Saturday morning, we had the pleasure of celebrating Kathleen Dowd’s birthday Kathleen (Kate) Dowd for the third year in a row with a 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance fundraiser class at !

This year, Kathleen chose to raise money for an organization called Communi-T, which has a vision of creating a future where every family, regardless of their background, has access to equitable, high-quality maternity care during the most critical moments of their lives.

Kathleen chose the songs for her playlist and the theme was GLAM GIRLS! Thank you to all of you who were able to join in-person or online on Zoom! A special shout-out goes to Kathleen’s special guests including her sister, Kristen Kristen Dowd Addicks, her daughter, Annika, her daughter’s boyfriend, Cameron, her 8-month-pregnant niece, Annalise, and her friend, Glenda!

We are so grateful for your kindness, generosity, and support, in celebrating Kathleen’s birthday in the most meaningful and impactful way: giving back to our community!

🤣 “DROP DOWN” BLOOPER! 🤣

Just another day in one of our classes! Every class has a little bit of unpredictable magic in it and this morning’s class was truly unforgettable!

Lisa Butcher just returned 24 hours ago from a week-long water polo boat trip in Croatia, and this was her first class back! A little jet lag and sea legs is to blame for this stumble to the floor (!), but it didn’t stop her from literally bouncing right back up and continuing the choreography! Thank goodness her ankle was fine!

⚽️ Happy Birthday Erin Meyers! ⚽️

Last week we celebrated our Fourth of July baby, Erin Meyers with a World Cup themed class! Thank you to everyone who came to dance with Erin, wearing different team jerseys and colors, and to Sara Rainbolt and Sandy Aley for coming early to decorate Erin’s decorations!

Erin is a huge part of our community who is often behind-the-scenes organizing our community gatherings, helping to set up for our events, or planning meal trains for dancers in need. She is extremely thoughtful as shown by her effort to bring backdrop decorations every time there is a special celebration for someone in class. Most of all, Erin is welcoming to everyone in class and always extends a friendly smile and conversation with dancers around her. We are so lucky to have Erin as part of our dance family!
