Lord, don’t let me look healthy on the outside while dying on the inside. Renew my inner man. Heal the deep and hidden places I’ve neglected, and make my private relationship with You stronger than anything people see publicly. -Amen

“I’m fine.” But how are your roots? 🌱

A tree can still be standing, still have leaves, and still look healthy while something beneath the surface is dying.

Sometimes, so can we.

We can still show up. Still work. Still serve. Still worship. Still take care of everyone else—and still be struggling internally.

This week’s message reminded us: “You need to check your roots.”

What have you been absorbing? What have you been carrying quietly? Are you cultivating what you need, or simply maintaining what everyone else sees?

We spend so much time caring for the outer person that we can neglect the inner one. And sometimes we get so busy doing the work for God that we stop spending time with God.

Mental wellness means tending to what people can’t see. That can look like prayer and asking for help. Scripture and therapy. Faith and healthy boundaries. Community and rest.

This , don’t wait for the leaves to fall before you check the roots.

Take care of what’s happening beneath the surface. Return to your first love. Stay connected. Stay rooted in Christ.

Father, help me check my roots. Reveal what is unhealthy beneath the surface before it affects what grows above it. Uproot what is dying in me and deepen my connection to You so I can receive everything You provide. -Amen

Your roots determine your fruit. And while some roots need to grow deeper, others need to die off completely. Old mindsets. Old habits. Old wounds. Old ways that can’t go where God is taking you.

This month at The R.O.C.K. SCT, we’re getting beneath the surface. It’s time to examine what we’re rooted in, let God uproot what no longer belongs, and grow deeper in Him.

October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and we honor the leaders who faithfully serve, pray, teach, encourage, correct, and care for God’s people. 🤎

Today, we say THANK YOU to Pastor Curl and our SCT Deacons for every sacrifice made, every prayer prayed, every person cared for, and every act of service—both seen and unseen.

There is so much that happens beyond the pulpit and outside of Sunday morning that many will never know, but God sees it all. We are grateful for leaders who continue to answer the call, serve with humility, and help carry the vision of this house.
