Today, we celebrate the fathers who work hard to support their families, strengthen their communities, and help build a better future for all of us. Thank you for everything you do at home, on the job, and in our union.

Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Today, we honor the freedom, resilience, and contributions of Black Americans while recognizing the ongoing work to build a more just and equitable future for all.

We love seeing our members thrive! Congratulations to Local 1790 member Nicci Dorsey on earning Dean’s List honors while continuing to advance her career in behavioral health.

We are so proud to share that our Accelerated Bachelor's program participants, Nicci Dorsey, has made the Dean's list at SUNY Empire State University! Nicci is a CADC at Mid-Columbia Center for Living, and has been working hard to advance her career in behavioral health. She started the program as a CADC-R and just applied for her CADC II through MHACBO. Nicci will receive advanced standing in her bachelor's degree program at SUNY through credit for prior learning (CPL), reducing the number of classes she needs to take to complete her degree. Nicci's story demonstrates the value of credit for prior learning in higher education. Nicci shared, "I began this program as a CADC-R and it has played a major role in both my personal and professional growth. Through the education, flexibility, and support offered, I have been able to advance my career significantly, progressing toward my bachelor’s degree and now working toward my future goal of earning a master’s degree".
